Anyone seen the new HD2+ DLP sets?

Has anyone seen the new HD2+ based DLP sets anywhere in Milwaukee yet?  

A lot of places are getting the Samsung HLP sets with the HD3, but I have not yet seen any with the HD2+ chip.  There are Samsungs, Toshibas, Panasonics and Mitsubishis on the way...

I saw the "Captain Kirk" Samsung at American yesterday.  It was impressive.

They also had the Mits there, but the screen has so much glare on it.... Why would they do that to such a nice TV?

I saw the Toshiba 52" yesterday, very very nice.  It bugs me because in about 4-7 hours, American is bringing over my Hitachi 60v500 and I don't know if I should accept it or run out and buy the Toshiba 52" (I think 60 may be too many inches for me anyway).  It's about $300 more than the Hitachi 60" LCD....

Off topic rant...why are the matching stands so %^%$$$$ expensive?

Next week I am going to buy the sony XBR 70"
from american in waukesha (they have a 70" one on display
along with a 60") This tv impressed me.
I thought about projection tv (you know the ones mounted on the celing.but the blacks are not really black)
 
Any thoughts?

I have a computer projector which I use for TV.  If there is lots of ambient light, yes the picture can look a little washed out.  You just want to maximize the ratio of the projectors brightness vs the ambient light.  So if you get a bright projector or keep the room pretty dark then you wont notice the not-so-black blacks.  My projector is located in an east room.  It can get washed out in the moring hours if I dont pull the shades, but in the evening hours it looks great even without pulling the shades.

I've seen the JVC's at American and at Colders...

I hate to say it, but I'm not overly impressed so far.

The JVC can be tweaked to be a very watchable set IMHO.  I'm still not sure it's the holy grail of digital RPTV I was looking for, but it's pretty enough.  It appears to have a sub-par scaler/analogue section compared to some other sets in the price range (current gen DLPs and LCDs).  The black levels are good, not great but good.  Some tweaking in the user controls can make them look very bad, though, as well as crushing blacks and whites.  If it's set up right it's at least as watchable as the Samsung DLPs, but with a different set of artifacts/issues (less panning/motion issues and more edge/ringing issues).  Some of this may be tweakable in the service menus.  I like the color rendition better than the Wega LCD or the Samsung DLPs without question.   It's still on my list for possible purchase when the tuner/firewire version comes out in the fall.

you would need to take some pretty advanced equipment along to check this out.

Only a CRT can be great.

Pretty much true of any Projection system.
