What is the furthest away anyone has picked up FOX 6?

Hey,

I am in Cottage Grove, ~15 East of the Capitol, and I was wondering about FOX reception out of Milwaukee.  It doesn't look likely that FOX47 here in Madison will make the start of the NFL season, and I was wondering if I could pick up the FOX 6 out of Milwaukee.

Include your antenna setup with where you are located.

The furthest I can remember is one member up in the Hartford Slinger area.....I wouldn't count on you being able to pick it up as they are running only 4 or 5 kWERP with a small antenna until their HighPower solution and antenna is installed and that time frame could be anytime in the next 12 to 15 months, so don't hold your breath.

Sterno,

I'm able to pick up channel 6's digital signal in Elkhorn, with a rooftop Radio Shack VU-190, but just barely...at my workplace, in Delavan, I'm able to pick them up slightly better because our antenna (I don't know the make or model) is probably one of the highest in town at 5 stories up off the ground.

Hey Gregg

QuoteI'm not going to set any timeline but let me say I was suprised at the timeline.

Quotethat time frame could be anytime in the next 12 to 15 months, so don't hold your breath.

Well I guess you let the cat out of the bag here.

I think Todd, Malamute and myself are the only ones involved in the FTA stuff right now.  And Malamute and myself have the HD FTA receivers.  So just maybe we will be able to get a FOX HD sports feed this fall for the Packer games:D

I'm getting it with signal strength of 68. Using CM 4228 with a CM7778 preamp.

I'm here in Delavan at the west end of the lake and I can pick up WITI-DT 6 sparingly. It gets steadier at night...nearly watchable even. The signal hovers from 30 to 40 on my Zenith HDV420 STB. Ive got a 55' tower with a WineGard CA-7084 and mast mounted pre-amp
all on a rotor. Sad to read that a power boost won't be had for 12 to 15 months...all I need is another 10% . Fox out of Madison comes in great but alas they don't seem to be getting HD for a while either. Here's hoping for a signal boost when the leaves fall...it would be nice to see da Bears beat da Pack in HD...:drink:

Who cares how "far" away it can be picked up when it can't be picked up at only 10 miles away!  :bang:

Interesting Note about WMSN-DT.  They should have been HD before WITI-DT came on the air.

But it just occured to me WMSN is a Sinclair Broadcast station.
