I'll be dammed. FOX 6 has the new show 'North Shore ' on, right now. Full HD.

Oh ... my ... god.

Brooke Burns in HD.

The picture is awesome.

Todd Wiedemann

I'm pretty sure it's not stretched. The bug is in the corner where a 4:3 pic would end ...

Todd Wiedemann

No one else ??

Maybe it isn't HD, then. I think the picture is damn fine quality.

720p

Holy smokes, I think you're right.  It does indeed look HD to me as well.  Fox takes forever to get their digital signal going but damn if they don't improve quickly!

720p

I just changed the output resolution on my STB and compared 480i with 1080i and there most certainly is a great improvement.  (My TV doesn't accept native 720p.)

Yep. That's what I thought, too.

The Casino is next !! WOOT ! Can't wait to admire that picture !

Finally I feel confident that many of the upcoming NFC games with be in HD.  It's a great feeling to witness this shocker with my very own eyes.

I hate to burst anyone's bubble but what you are watching is up-converted 480 that is encoded at 720p.  It's not HD, as the GM of FOX6 told me it would be a little impossible for you to receive a HD program from them as they don't have an HD feed from FOX and Fox is sending HD yet.  As of today they are installing the new Satellite dish at WITI to receive the HD feed when it becomes available.  Hopefully FOX is still shooting to be HD at the All Star Break....so hold on.

In the interim I'm going to try some less technical ways to receive their signal, such as an indoor antenna or just an antenna in the attic rather than the antenna on the tower.  That way I can reduce the amount of signal from channel 34 that is reducing the gain of my receivers.

I did catch a bit of these shows on Fox last night when I was flipping channels.  The shows did look good but they were definitely not 720p/1080i.  If you compared them to a show on CBS or HDNet at the time the Fox shows did not look nearly as crisp or bright as those.

720p

Well they did look a bit fuzzy but still much better than normal 480i.

gregg is correct on this.. they have the HD splicer installed, but not the receiving dish. anyway, I am pretty sure Fox isn't currently sending out HD.. I was under the impression that the first 720p broadcast would happen with the first Sunday of NFL.

According to the press release in this post (http://www.milwaukeehdtv.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3236) Fox was supposed to start true HD with the Pepsi 400, which is this weekend, or at least by the MLB All-Star game which is 2 weeks away, but I guess it kind of looks pretty dim for those to be in HD.

Gregg Lengling

Fox6 says that isn't going to happen...they are now hoping it will be live with the All Star game.

If they make the All-Star game that would be pretty cool, but I'm not holding my breath.  Let's just hope all the i's are dotted and the t's are crossed by 9/19 (Pack's first game on FOX).

Pepsi 400 was never in the mix. David Hill was talking out loud. The All Star Game has always been a maybe and still is. There are software issues in the net to station distribution system that is being worked out. If they don't get that going pretty soon, the All Star Game will be 480 16:9 only. The first official day of using the splicer is August 2nd and then only 480 upconverted to 720. The month of August is scheduled as a shake-down on the full system with the first official HD broadcast is Sept 12th for the football games.
