Today, there is finally more info available about the upcoming ATI HDTV wonder tuner card...

I need to know more about .vcr format.  I will buy this card if I can get it to produce standard TP transport stream files.  I am using two PCs in my home where one is the primary HTPC and I need the ability to interchange TP files between the two machines.

Please post info if you know anything about ATI's .vcr format.

Thanks.

I have a non-HD ATI All-In-Wonder card. You record in about 4 different formats including AVI and different flavors of MPEG. The .vcr format says you can convert it to MPEG-2, but I haven't played with it much.

From what I have read, the ATI HDTV Wonder does NOT save (nor have an option to save) the Transport Stream.  My understanding is that is saves the particular sub-channel as a .VCR file.  You can then use a bundled utility to convert the .VCR file to an MPeg2 file.

There is a device from Roku that can play Transport Stream files -- see the following link:  http://www.rokulabs.com/products/hd1000/index.php
