I'm so jealous. I just talked my sister into buying her first HDTV. She lives just outside Indianapolis. The cable company is Insight. I told her to contact the cable company to get an HD box. I had no idea what they offered in her area.

She called me back and said they were going to install an HD/DVR. I thought she must be mistaken. They didn't even have SD/DVR at Christmas time. I looked up the web site and she was right. HD/DVR now available.

When are we going to get ours TWC???

Coming soon.  I spoke with a contact of mine at TWC, and he told me that they have received a small number of HD DVRs. They'll be having a group of employees do the initial testing, and then should be ready to start making some available to the public. Getting close. :)

Checking the Insight Cable website this cable company uses  the Motorola HD DVR, not the SA (or so it looks)...still  way cool.

I notice also they have all the locals in HDTV or EDTV(Fox) like Milwaukee and...Bravo HD and ESPN HD, which TWC does not.
I  used to think Indiana wasn't as up to speed as much as Wisconsin was with things like cable service, but I was wrong: even their cable companies can be cool-er.:)

Hope we get our HD DVRs sooner and those HD channels, too!

Thanks for the update, summerfun.

A little bird told me that the employee beta testing for the SA8000HD begins next week.  Hopefully this means the general release happens soon.
