Okay, I have a few days left to try and pull in 33D.  I live in Tosa so it should not be too hard... should it?  I have a radio shack double bowtie and get nearly 100% on almost every other digital channel but still get zilch on 33D.  I assume part of the problem is that Im nearly due south from the transmitter and so the signal has to go through my home, my neighbors home, and probably a few other homes before getting somwhat line of sight to the transmitter.  Anyway, considering that I get nothing, is there any hope of pulling in Fox short of mounting a new antenna high above the roofline before the game?  Would an amplifier help at all?  Is there anything else that would help or are most non-antenna solutions only good for tweaking weak signals?

Granted, if I dont get 33D, I probably wont miss much, considering that they dont even broadcast in HD...

You have a much better chances wining the lottery and then buy Fox6.

Very, very, very little chance vs. none, zilch, nada.

You won't get 33 (Fox 6-1). No one does except those who live near their studio. They are using a low power signal. Don't even bother trying.

Happy New Year everyone!!!

I too live in 'Tosa  and have done all that can be done to get FAUX's signal  with  no results. The only time that I have ever gotten FAUX is a month or so ago when we had like 50mph winds from the North.   I did get their signal temporarily.

If you can put up a huge outdoor antenna beefore then, you might be in luck......

Today I installed my antenna on the roof. Kind of cold and slippery up on the roof. Hosting a packer party sunday and wanted Fox 33D. I'm only 3.5 miles form the station and I can not lock in the digital signal. Where is Fox's broadcast tower?

What luck Fox is broadcasting the Packers.

Kevin Arnold

They're digital signal is coming from the 200 foot tower at the station which is 9200 N. Green Bay Road.  Not the same place as their regular  tower in Estabrook park.  You need a rotor on your antenna to get them if it's "gettable" where you are.

After pointing due west I get 33D now.

Talk to a person at fox today and he said I should be able to get 33D. So with my trusty cub scout compass in hand, I re-pointed due west and YES i can lock in Fox 33D. Only 76%. Bad news I loose NBC, CBS and ABC Digital signal.

The engineer at fox said this spring or summer they will move the digital broadcast to estabrook. He also said 50% of programming will be HD 720P.

Most everyone would have a better chance of receiving the game over WFLD-DT, ch. 31 as oppose to WITI-DT.  Providing you have a large tall outdoor antenna with amplification. Also a rotor on the tower to point that antenna to the South to get WFLD-DT.

Does FOX 6 have any HD programs? Every game has looked like crap so far (shakey picture, etc.) and I keep hearing that they only broadcast in ED. Any input?

The Law

Fox has no HD programming.  It is all 480 widescreen.  tv shows look ok - football games blow compared to HD.

FOX put out a Public Release last year that they are now commiting to 720p and will upgrade during 2004.
