In a deal reminiscent of the Sunday Ticket on DirecTV, Sirius satellite radio will now present the NFL audio feeds.  From Radio Online......

QuoteThe NFL has inked a 7-year deal with Sirius to broadcast all NFL games live nationwide, and for Sirius to become the league's Official Satellite Radio Partner. Beginning with the NFL's 2004 season, Sirius will carry the entire NFL regular season.

I wonder if there is a market at all for audio descriptions only of the NFL?

Kevin,

I think there could be a market.  I only have so many TV's/Receivers to watch simultaneous NFL Ticket games (4 if you're wondering).  Last year we would would run the audio of one of the games we weren't watching from NFL.com.  If a team got into the redzone or if there was an important play, we'd flip channels to see the action.  NFL.com changed to a subscription service this year, so we never tuned in.  The 2 enhanced NFL ticket games alert us to redzone activity and has made the need almost a moot point.

I never researched to see if one could find the audio stream on the internet for a game without going through NFL.com or if there was some NFL copyright forcing locals to turn off their internet audio during games.  Nevermind, I just found this on the 620WTMJ site.

"SPORTS TEAMS AND SYNDICATORS RETAIN THEIR OWN INTERNET AUDIO STREAMING RIGHTS. We are not able to stream any sports play-by-play broadcasts or syndicated programs. Among other things, that means you will not be able to hear any Brewers, Bucks, Packers or Badgers games through this site. For information on how to listen to Brewers games on the Internet, visit the Milwaukee Brewers Web site. For information on how to listen to Packers games on the Internet, visit the Green Bay Packers Web site during the Packers season."

One question.  Would this service be included or would it be a premium service that costs extra?

Figures...after I get my wife an XM radio set for Christmas. :bang:

As far as whether it's an additional cost, according to the Sirius site, it will be part of their normal programming.  Here's what the Sirius site had to say: http://www.sirius.com/servlet/ContentServer?pagename=Sirius/CachedPage&c=FlexContent&cid=1071262948028

And as far as a market, for those of us transplanted to this area & not GB fans, it would make it very worthwhile to keep track of our home teams.

I turn on the radio under the following conditions:
1) When Im not able to turn on the TV
2) Whenever Madden is on because I dont care to hear commentary about how sweaty players are getting or hear other stupid arguements such as when he stated that a "square-inch" is longer than an "inch".

LOL!  I feel the same way about Madden and his useless tidbits.

Madden owns! The stuff he says is what makes him so badass. He may be Captain Obvious, but he makes me laugh.
