OTA antenna for the Dish

I live in Menomonee Falls apartment complex. I have my HDTV hooked up to antenna from the apartments roof that is almost 20 years old. I get 100% reception on 4-1 and about 60% on 10-1. Ten-1 freezes alot though. That is IT.
I've tried couple "HDTV optimized" indoor antennas but they were even worse.
Since I'm an apartment I'm thinking of getting one of those antennas that attach to the Sat Dish. So far I've found http://www.accsat.com/terkTV4x.htm
Does anyone know if this one works with oval dishes or round?

This one is pretty cheap, don't know if it's even worth it.

Could you tell me if I should even bother with these, are there better ones that can be mounted to a sat dish or would it even be worth it for me to get one of these. Thanks.

I tried Terk 55. It did not work. I can't believe #42 will work. Radio Shack Yagi installed in the attic works great. Only DTV6 is invisible here in Muskego.

Are you referring to a shared "community" antenna, Big?

The ONLY small (indoor) antenna I've ever heard of that works worth a damn is the Radio Shack double bow-tie, so you might try to find one.  Otherwise, since antennas themselves don't age, I would have a look at the connectors if you have any access.  An antenna pre-amp might help as well, even if its not near the antenna.

I used to have a dish monted antenna that was omnidirectional, and looked like a big frisbee.  It mounted on a pole that raised it a few feet above the dish, but it didn't work at all.

I decided to go with the Radio Shack Double bowtie, and it worked well.  I was even able to recieve fox six when I hung it out the window, but I decided to go with a big one on the roof, and now I get everything.

If you can get up on the roof, and make sure that the "old one" is still pointed in the right direction, and that the connections to it are in good shape, you may be able to gain enough signal strength to make 10-1 stble.

Also, I added a cheap amplifier to the line where it comes into the house, and it made a huge differance.  I can get most of Chicago now, and even South Bend Indiana, but you need a rotor for that.

Ditto on Radio Shack Double Bow Tie. I'm on the northwestern edge of Germantown, and neither the Terk (which I returend) nor an amplified RCA indoor got me CBS58 (1-1). The Radio Shack gets me a solid signal on all the locals, and even on occasion some of the Chicago stations...

Thanks, I won't bother with those antennas then. Yes, I do have community, shared antenna. I went to Best Buy and picked up a signal amplifier in hopes of increasing the reception. I lost TMJ4 which was coming in at 100% before, I think I overamplified it. Ten-one went from 60% to 80% though. I ended up returning the amplifier since I do wanna watch Jay Leon every night
All over the web I've been seeing everyone praising this Radioshack double bowtie antenna for high def. Anyone around here has it for sale? I'll pay $20 to $30 for it. Thanks.

bigcheese ...

Hang on with that bow-tie purchase.

Milwaukeehdtv.org might be able to work something out for you ...

WooooHooooo. I managed to find the double bow tie antenna at radio shack for $4.99
I've called RadioShack they still have 2 left at their Cudahy location as of 10/26/2002. According to Radioshack these are the last 2 left in Milwaukee area. When you do buy it make sure to get this ancient technology known as F-connector.
Antenna promises to deliver perfectly clear black and white reception

As for performance. Now I'm able to get 10-1 at solid 82% and 4-1 still 100%. Although you have got to see the irony of moving the antenna back and forth to receive different channels. In the age of satellites and digital  cable never did I expect to do that again in my life
I still can't see 1-1 though. Does it only come in at certain times?
What about 12-1 is that running yet?

WISN channel 12 doens't have the PSIP data set up yet...so tune channel 34 and you will receive them.
