VOOM has deployed AccuWeather's CustomWeather HD digital weather system on Newsbytes HD, one of 21 HD channels developed by Rainbow Media Holdings for Cablevision's new satellite HD service. The company says CustomWeather HD targets the underserved HDTV audience and offers a substantial amount of HD programming, including Rainbow Media's 21-channel package.


Newsbytes HD features national weather updates available 24/7, using AccuWeather forecasts, graphics and on-air talent. In January 2004, the channel will add news headlines, feature stories and sports highlights to its format. CustomWeather HD incorporates AccuWeather's weather graphics and animations, and voiceovers from its broadcast meteorologists.
