Milwaukee's own Tim Cuprisin has news and views of new HD service in Wednesday's JS.  Quite a lot of column space is devoted to the changes at TW as they add INHD and other channels. ESPN HD is discussed also. It would seem Time Warner has seen the future and it is us.

It really is about time JS started listing HD programs.  That the Tribune co. doesn't provide them is just lame. Try asking for them.

USA Today has been noting which shows are being broadcast in HD for quite some time now.

Actually I can't remember the last time I looked at the TV listings in the newspaper.  My Sony box and Directv gives me the whole guide and Yes it does show which shows are in HD.

TWCs guide does not delineate (sp?) between HD and non HD - though on the HD only channels - it's all HD.  On the locals - it'd be nice - particulary for sports events and movies.

I hope they show some soccer matches in HD on Fox Sports Net

On January 7th Fox Sports Net HD debuts. The $6.95 question: Will it be free or will we have to $$$ ???

That is a good question.  Hopefully it will be part on the "HD package" which of course only consists of InHD.

Is it possible that Fox Sports Net HD will not be a 24/7 station?  InHD had always said that InHD2 would be able to broadcast local events in HD such as sports.  I wonder if the Fox Sports Net HD games will be on InHD2.

I saw on the AVS forum a schedule that included at least a dozen Bucks games to be broadcast by Fox Sports Net HD.  All the games were at home.  This should be great to see the Bucks in HD.

My cable bill came today with a pamphlet outlining the new package changes.  DIGIPiC Options included this (which implies Fox Sports Net (NBA, NHL, MLB):

"HD Package $6.95
Two channels of iNHD, plus coming in January 2004: NBA, NHL and MLB games, cable network programming, and at least 4 new movies per week, all in crystal clear high definition"

"Requires minimum Digital Access Package"

The Digital Access Package is $42.95 per month and "Includes 145 of the most popular cable channels and the Digital Ineractive Program Guide, Including 46 Digital Music Channels and access to PPV and iCONTROL Movies"

This means that it's listed under the "HDTV Premium" Tier and not the standard HDTV Tier.  So, to get TMJ-HD, WDJT-HD, WITI-HD, MPTV-HD, WISN-HD and DiscoveryHD - you just need basic cable.  To get the HDTV Premium (under which HBO-HD, Showtime-HD, iNHD, iNHD2 and Fox Sports Net, you'll need the Digital Access Package.
