Description

NASA Kennedy Space Center is hereby issuing a Request for Information (RFI) for the purpose of seeking sources and soliciting information from private industry on High Definition Digital Color Television Camera (HDTV). The objective of this release is to promote competition, to improve potential offerors understanding of the Government's requirement and improve the Government's knowledge of industry's capabilities.

A total quantity of 46 HDTV units, to include 10 Pad Qualified and 36 COTS. Attached is a 30% design review of the Government requirements for the HDTV cameras. Potential vendors should review the documents before responding to this RFI.

Reponses to this RFI should reference RFI03-KKL-HDTV and shall include the following information in this format: 1. Company name, address, POC name, phone number, fax number and email. 2. Contractor and Government Entity (CAGE Code). 3. Size of business - Large Business, Small Business, Small Disadvantage, 8(a), Hubzone, Woman-owned and/or Veteran-owned. 4. If the items can be solicited from a GSA schedule. If so, provide the GSA contract number. 5. Ability to meet a 45 day turnaround time ARO on the HDTV COTS unit and the HDTV Pad Qualified unit. If 45 days is not possible, what is the projected production time/delivery for both units. 6. Potential unit cost for one (1) HDTV COTS unit. 7. Potential unit cost for one (1) HDTV Pad Qualified unit, if different from the HDTV COTS unit. 8. Offerors ablity to meet Environmental and Vibration testing for both units, as indicated in the Design Review. 9. Any other supporting documentation.

Please advise if this requirement is considered to be commercial or commercial-type product. Commercial item is defined in FAR 2.101. Offerors may submit comments on the specification or on other approaches to meet the Government's requirement. Respondents are responsible for downloading their own copy of the RFI and documents. All responses shall be submitted no later than COB Monday, December 1, 2003, to Mr. Sean Howe. This pre-solicitation synopsis is being made available for planning purpose only, subject to FAR Clause 52.215-3, entitled "Solicitation for Information of Planning Purpose." It does not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, nor will the Government pay for the information submitted in response. Respondents will not be notified of the results. Please note the information within this pre-solicitation synopsis will be updated and/or may change prior to an official synopsis/solicitation, if any.
