Composite Cable - 30'

I'm trying to get a hookup from my computer to TV working properly.  I'm just using the composite output on my vid card since I'm just trying to watch downloaded MacGyver episodes.

If I run the cable across my floor, which only requires a distance of 15', and put it into my front input on my TV, I get a perfect picture.  I hooked up an additional cable (30' total) to run through my drop ceiling and plugged into my rear inputs and my picture loses all color.  Completely B&W.

Is 30' a problem for composite cable?  If so, do they make a cheap amp?  Or is there some other issue I'm missing?

Make sure your connections are all tight.  I had a similar problem and discovered that one of my plugs wasn't all the way in.
