Hi Guys,

I am a new member to the forum and got my HDTV set about 90 days ago, so I apologize if this is a basic question.

I was watching the Sunday night Raiders game on ABC owned ESPN HD and have to say it was possibly the best HD event I have ever seen. Unbelievable picture.

Then the next night I watched the ABC Monday night football game on over the air HD via Channel 12 and the picture was nice, but it didn't compare with the ESPN-HD game the night before.

Is this my imagination, or does ABC sports broadcast in 720 and ESPN HD in 1080i, thus producing a better picture on ESPN?

Or am I mixed up in my terminology and the material difference in picture quality was perhaps my imagination, or maybe I had the settings on my HD box set incorrectly?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Same 720P, but don't know if DirecTV send the signal native 720P or up converted 1080i.

I'll try to get home early and catch MNF and compare the two.
