I had the same situation with DiscHD after about 9pm or so.  I have not checked today if the station is back up.  Also, yesterday afternoon I had the same deal with PBSHD for a few hours.

Everything I have read about INHD certainly points to the station not being pay per view.  I think the name of the station is throwing people off.  I expect it to be much like HDNet.

If you lived closer to me I'd bet you a case of beer you are wrong!

I'll take that bet too.  At least one of INHD's feeds will be regular programming...
The loser has to deliver the case just before a Packers MNF game...:D

Today's website article on TWC offerings....

http://corporate.discovery.com/press/press_releases/030608r.html

But I am a little confused as to the wording. One paragraph mentions IN HD.
Then the next one seems to continue it with InDemand being discussed-a PPV channel. :(

So maybe IN HD-1 will be a free-view (preview) channel and the IN HD-2 a PPV one (In Demand's HD version?)

So I still don't get it!

You TWC-worker-forum guys aren't writing in, either.

But I'll assume that the TWC Milwaukee launch of this 9/15 release of channel(s) of IN HD will be delayed like the Discovery HD channel was:
Everyone gets it in the country with the exception of  Milwaukee-which was probably last on the list.

Here is a response to a query to TWCs Customer Care center.  The response was timely and curteous.  Kudo's to TWC on this:

>>>>>>>
Thanks for asking. You are right, the channels are not being offered as pay-per-view or video-on-demand.

INHD is planning to offer programming on the channels 24/7, but the prices for the additional channels, and the launch dates, have not been determined.

Please watch TWC Channel One for updates.

If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.

So there you have it!

New posting from TWC website today:

As a continuation of our commitment to deliver consumers the most robust set of High Definition channels possible, Time Warner Cable plans to offer high-definition programming: In Demand, and Fox Sports Net.

Starting this fall, Fox Sports Net will begin to produce live HD game telecasts of many Major League Baseball, National Basketball Association and National Hockey League teams within local communities.

Also this fall, INHD will be availabe to HD customers. INHD will offer several hundred hours of feature films, professional sports and college sports--including a college football game of the week, general interest programming like "Family-Fare" plus award winning mini-series. Prices and launch dates have not been determined.

Remember though that our TWC here in the Milwaukee area lives in a time warp and cannot distinguish the seasons - thus Fall to them more than likely means this winter!! Not Sept 15th which is when the rest of the country is going to get INHD!!!!!!!!!!!

With 2 days to go fro the national rollout of INHD let's take a poll:

Will our local TWC roll out INHD on Sept 15th???

I have all the confidence in the world that our local TWC will
let us down and not deliver!!

My answer: NO!!!!

btbowen1

I don't know if it will deliver during the roll out but you gotta be fair at the improvements TWC has done with HD since last year.
When they do add ESPN HD, Fox Sports HD, and INHD, they would have a very good fight with the sat providers.
A friend of mine in the city recently got rid of his sat. because of a dispute and had TWC installed for the first time in 5 years.
He was surprised at how TWC is closing the gap in quality and quantity. He said he couldn't tell the difference in pq between the digital channels and the sat channels.
He also thinks indemand is great.

According to This Thread at AVS , Comcast cable customers in Detroit started to get the 2 INHD channels today.
While I'm not a TWC sub, my provider (Dish) is launching it's HD package this coming week. Hopefully, someone in Milwaukee will get it this week:)

BTW, can I get in on the case of beer bet, too?

Dave
I kinda thought that might happen ...

Surprise Surprise!!!  September 15th is here and
NO INHD here in Milwaukee!!!!

Just got off phone with service Mgr @ Time Warner. She has explained to me that TW will launch the 2 In HD channels on Sept. 20 2003. Their was a problem with the feed that has been fixed. So 5 days late is not too bad. Lets all just hope it really happens.

gb4fan92

I agree. 5 days late is not too bad. Its better than our wait for DiscoveryHD and ESPNHD.

I don't know when iNHD is launching locally, but I guarantee it ain't happening on the 20th.

I don't know why you guys continually post your 'virtual press conferences' from nameless people, when you KNOW TW employees read and post to this news group everything that is a confirmed launch...

When we know, this group will know; as well as the "SERVICE MANAGER @ TW CABLE". And then---and only then, Tim Curprisin will write about it! :D   'Till then it's all BS.

Going forward, post NAMES, along with POSITIONS so I can let them know they are giving out BAD OR UNSUBSTANTIATED INFORMATION.  (You do ask whom you are talking to, don't you?) :bang:

kmcbride1

Yes mhz40 I do ask who I am talking to. Her name was Tina and that is all she would give. Normally I would not post anything about was is suppose to happen at TW but Tina was so convinced that the launch of In HD was going to happen. Like I said in my last post lets all just hope it really happens.

mhz40

I'll try to get the skinny as to why she is so confident.  I am just as confidant that iNHD will not launch on 9/20...   I've been involved with launches and channel lineup changes for over 12 years now... to date we have never launched channels or made any lineup changes on weekends.  I don't expect that will happen this time either.
On the flip side, IMHO--- the iNHD will be launched before you have to shovel snow off your sidewalks. :D
I (nore Tina) can really know for sure because nothing offical has been released.

mhz40 You are absolutely right. I called back to TW to see if I could get more info on In HD and both Patricia and Nicole said it is not going to be part of their line-up for a while. But both girls said that they got a E-mail (this month)regarding ESPN HD. They said it is coming in October. You seem like you know what is going on over their at TW. So any info regarding that would be helpfull. I hate to ask for information on what is suppose to happen, but I am about to spend $800.00 to get Hi-Def directv. So I can get ESPN HDTV. But if it is coming on Oct. I would like to stay with TW. Any info would help. Thanks!!!
