Relax, we were having some fun with them. This really comes down to the issue of communication or more specifically, the lack thereof. If they read this site they can certainly register and make their feelings known. Jim Hall from CBS58/46 is a regular contributor here and has had several online chats with the group. While not everyone may agree with his approach, we know what it is and why he is doing it. When everyone knows what is going on, the discussion centers on the issues and not the station. MPTV has chosen to be mysterious and silent on their HD plans until the above (if you want to call that candid-OK). In fact, if you read previous posts around the forum MPTV has said that they had received complaints from unidentified "people" who wanted the multicasting to continue. No one can figure out who "they" are. If a few negative posts send them scurrying to punish HDTV then there is a serious problem far beyond this little site. In short, this is really an isuue of frustration with the silence of the organization. It has never been easier to communicate with your viewers (both to and from)via the internet. If there is a strategy behind their actions, say so. If this is a total surprise to them, then wake up. We, the early adopters, want HD programming, want to know what's planned, and resent being asked to chip in to support MPTV but get treated like mushrooms. That's what your seeing and reading here. The days of silent viewers with only a few snail mail letters are over and you need to have a thick skin if you are in broadcast management or you'll feel like a pincushion. I might also point out that forum members give out as many roses as they do onions. So come on MPTV, work with us, engage your viewers (and not just a few heavy hitters) and you'll get a huge return.
