I noticed my PBS channels are now 10-2 thru 10-6 last night. Anybody else see this? My only guess would be that they are going to have channel 10-1 as their  24-hour HD feed when they get the new 2nd transmitter up and running in the next month.

24 hour HD feed will be channel 35-1

I noticed the missing 10-1 too.  So what's this about 35-1 being the new channel for 24-hour HD feed of 10-1 ???  I don't understand.  If 10-1 is going to a different channel, does that also mean it won't have the 3-hour delay any more ?  And when is this going to happen ?

You are not alone.  The 3 hour delay is about as understandable as the wind and rain which have plagued Fox 6 lately.  I think the mono classical music on (sometimes 10-5 or 10-6 or 8-5 or 8-6) is an especially nice use of bandwidth ;)

Yes, I see the same when I can get my tuner to lock on to the signal.

This past week my Sony  xbr2 HDTV has had difficulty reading pbs' signal. I have a strong signal, but the digital tuner keeps going back and forth from 8.1 to 10.1, "locking- up " my tv like  what happens with a computer.

To " unlock" the tv, I have to hit "exit" repeatedly on the remote.I have re- scanned for all available digital channels several times now with the same freezing-up when I get to 8.1 or 10.1. I can eventually receive 10.2-10.6 by "exiting" then channel up/down key on my remote. I thought may be I had a software problem but,
All other chicago digitals and Milwaukee's 4.1 are fine. I'm wondering if anybody else has tuner problems with PBS lately?

Thanks for any help,    Max:bang:

When I press channel up from 6-1, my Sony HD200 displays 8-1 for a second then 10-1, and after that it automatically switches to 10-2.  Also, if I try to press channel down from 10-2 to get back to 6-1, I get bounced back to 10-2.  What a mess.

Where is 35-1?  It's July.....

I have had the same problem with Milwaukee Public TV.  I have a Sony XBR and it also locks up.  I was able to use the up channel button in several successive hits in a row and it would finally go to Channel 11-1 from Chicago.  So, nailbender, your not alone with this problem.   I'm just sitting back and ignoring Channel 10 digital as I do Channel 58 digital.  Sooner or later sanity will arrive.

As for Channel 36 here the email I sent with the reply from their programming department (as of June 17th):

Hi Karen!!

Just thought I would drop you a line to see what if any news you have on the digital version of channel 36.  I had heard it was going to be High Definition full time.  I hope that is true.  Can you confirm?

Hope all is well otherwise.

Regards,

Hi, Rees!

Yes, plans are to have all the HD programs
running on Ch. 36 24-7 (along with PBS's loop).

Then, schedule would be created in our software,
which would allow us to post listings for that channel similarly as we do for our other channels, which would really be nice, because it would be much more informative than the hand-typed list we are currently using.

The equipment installation is supposed to take place
sometime in July, if all goes well, and
the schedule is supposed to happen for the August schedule,
and I will have to test-drive those listings, so, I'm hoping they'll be posted some time in July, also.

p.s.  The schedule Karen refers to is a scheduling software system which would allow streamlined scheduling to be available on the Web and other services like TV Guide etc.
