I have a bit of an annoying trouble with my computer.  Once in a while when I click of a weblink or something else that has a sound associated with it, it tends to get stuck and plays about half a secong over and over again.  If I choose another sound option in the multimedia control panel, it sometimes cures the problem.  I've tried reinstalling windows but no luck.  I would appreciate any help.

Thanx.   :)

Man, that could be ANY number of things. You have a long and winding trouble shooting process ahead of you. You want to make sure you have the latest Windows Media Player, you have the most up to date drivers for your sound card and that the sound card is not faulty.

Does this happen with all websites with audio or just one in particular? Could be the websites fault.....

I think its the drivers most likely. :(

IMO, the sound card is not sharing it's IRQ properly.  If you have a card-based sound card, move it to another slot on the motherborard.  In a new location, it is likely to use a different IRQ than it's using now---which may fix the problem if you luck out.  If the sound support is integrated into the mother board it is more difficult.
