Just wanted to let everyone know....

I received a call from DirecTV yesterday.  The purpose was to ensure that I have a third LNB on my dish.  According to the rep, new HD channels will be added shortly on the 110 sat.  They also asked if I use an OTA antenna to receive HD locals.  I guess they have plans to carry locals in HD.  YAHOO!!!!!

While some of this is good news.....don't hold your breath on local HD channels via Satellite....Directv has been on record saying they don't have the available bandwidth to provide HD local channels...however depending on FCC rulemaking they may have to provide Digital Television Channels.....this does not mean they have to carry it in HD format...they could rescale to 480i.

It was my understanding that they were going to carry a national HDTV feed for the major affiliates. NBC, CBS, FOX and ABC. This is, of course, word of mouth from a DirecTV rep.
