Over the past few days, PVR & HD have been mentioned within the same post.  To clarify, the soon to be released PVR set top is not HD capable.  However, I have heard some talk that SA is trying to get an HD PVR releleased by year's end.

I NEVER wrote that these PVR's were HD capable, but that cable is trying to outdo satellite by meeting it on its own terms(TIVO) and adding more HD with HD-locals (that sat cannot offer). Everytime DIRECTV and DISH broadcast a Masters or NBA, TWC does it, too...so competition is there and we are the ones that benefit from it. If TWC gets more of the satellite's proposed HD offerings like ESPN HD, the 2 HDNET channels and Discovery HD along with the Cinemax and Bravo HD's (later this year), so be it. Then there will be no reason to have satellite, unless the so-called cable channels like The Weather Channel, Sci-Fi, USA, etc stay in the analog realm (which is pretty awful). If TWC makes these channels digital for picture and sound, I can hardly wait. I was visiting another city where TWC is and these channels migrated to digital there and  there was a difference, especially in the PVR playback. Now for some HD...I know, wait for the SA8000HD model  to appear!

Sorry... I interupted your TW bash, didn't I?  Please continue!  Or are you maybe not online---and instead  enjoying CBS HD on your new Pioneer HD converter?

Tiny bit of misinterpretation here, I did not criticize TW moves related to HD deployment.  With HD the benefit of cable goes way up without any increased cost. I too applaud the effort and realize the significant advantages we hold over other areas of the country. What I bashed (as you say) at TW is the customer service.  Customer service is not that hard of a thing to do. A TW customer should expect problem solving and timeliness related to honest answers from employees. I admit it has improved over the last couple of years it still needs to get lots better.  I say 'way to go' to TW initiatives, now start to do the rest on that same level!

Just for the record I didn't get the Pioneer HD converter. The old one was replaced with another SA.  Now, back to NBC...
