Sony 57wv700 vs. Mits WS55411

I recently began researching for a RPTV.  My choices right now have come down to the Sony 57wv700 and the Mits WS55411.  Initially I was looking strictly at Mits, but came across a good deal at a local vendor.  I'd like to get anyone's opinion on the +'s and -'s for each.

I personally always heard good things about Mits and their RPTV's, thus making me lean towards that.  After sitting and viewing each set they are similar.  The Sony may have looked a bit better, but I not sure the Mits was set up quite right.

The main question I have is the way they are setup for HDTV recording.  This was brought to my attention my the salesmen.  Please correct me if I'm wrong, but Mits is virtually exclusively using Fireware for their HDTV recording tech, while most other brands including Sony are using another acronym technology.  Mits has the upgrade feature that I'm aware of, but another $1000 in two years on the TV isn't sounding the best.  Can anyone clear this up for me?  Plus any other opinions on these two RPTV's is appreciated.

Off to search the web for more info.
