3100 HD box keeps resetting

I have had the TWC 3100 HD box and lately it has been resetting/rebooting.  My picutre goes blank and then the box shuts off.  When I turn it back on, I get a message to say please wait and I can see the box rebooting on the screen.  Anybody else with this problem/issue?

I used to get this all the time when I was flipping thru the channels.  Since I got the HD box, it only happens maybe once a month or less.  

I would suggest a new box.

I had the same problem with the 3100HD box resetting over the weekend when the NBA all-star game was on 503, but it was only when they were broadcasting the color bars.  It probably reset about 5 times that weekend.  Otherwise, I might see the box reset when I'm watching it maybe once a month.  I don't know exactly what causes it (if Microsoft had its hands on anything inside, that's probably a good possibility ).  It must be either an internal error, or maybe the head-end at TWC is able to send out a signal that resets it if a new software patch needs to be installed.  It's my understanding that all those upgrades happen over the cable line automatically.

I've only caught my doing it once.  If these are updates, why isn't TWC running these things at 2 am during off peak viewing?
