Just a heads-up for antenna users- plan to rescan your TV tuners on October 18th because several local stations are switching frequencies that day.

Along with WISN 12 and Justice Milwaukee, WVTV, WDJT, WPXE, WITI and WTMJ will also move to new frequencies on October 18th:

The fact that we've heard nothing as customers about any kind of switchover tells me it isn't happening any time soon. I think Charter ran into a lot more problems than they anticipated with this.

That's interesting, but I don't think it necessarily means much (yet, anyway). TWC has yet to announce anything for the area in terms of when any changes might happen.

TWC's legal notifications page only mentions a few channels being moved around in January.

I agree completely. I am perfectly happy with my TWC service and set up and I am a little apprehensive about change bringing about problems...

From what I'm hearing they are planning to switch over the Southeast Wisconsin area in February but I would not be surprised if that date comes and goes without a change given the issues they are apparently having with the conversions. I wouldn't be shocked for it to be pushed back to the Spring or Summer.

I'm sure everyone knows this already but the Maxx upgrades have been cancelled nation-wide with the Spectrum changeover.

Seriously though, are you really surprised? It makes more sense for them to take the time and money to switch the systems over to Charter than to update systems that they're going to be getting rid of, anyway.

All Maxx updates are cancelled system-wide. We won't get a speed increase until the switchover to the Charter system which could happen as late as the Summer of 2017.

I know this is an old thread, but I used to love the kids show blocks on WCGV and WVTV in the late 80's and early 90's. I remember Dudley The Dragon and Amy!

I would love to see old WVTV/WCGV schedules from around that time period somehow.

The "shot clock" has been stopped. The FCC has gotten several phone messages and voicemail from consumers (including me) telling them to deny the merger.

22 (!) Public Interest Groups have sent a letter to the FCC a few days ago urging them to deny the merger and outlining in great detail why it is bad for consumers, bad for content creators, and only good for Cable Company Executives:

The FCC is getting the message loud and clear from multiple fronts that consumers know this is a bad deal for them and they want it blocked.

No (unenforceable) promises from Charter could possibly make this a good deal for consumers. With this merger there is not only no benefit to consumers, there are several considerable and notable harms.

If you are a Charter, Time Warner Cable, or Bright House customer, your bill will go up considerably if these companies merge.

Raising prices is the only way they can pay off the significant existing and new debt ($66 billion in total debt including about $27 billion in new debt) that the company would have as a result of the merger.

They're going to pass the cost of this merger directly on to us, all to make a few cable executives very wealthy.

Here are the phone numbers of some key people at the FCC that you can call if you want to express your concern over this proposed merger (I would recommend calling all three people):

I have called all three and left short, polite, and to-the-point voicemail messages explaining why this merger would be terrible for me as a consumer. Remember to give them your full name and the City and State you are calling from.
