Just got the 8300 today, I had to go to the Kenosha TWC (Racine, didn't have them yet). Hopefully no more going crazy with the all the drops. Also, maybe just me but the HI Def channels seem better!

I spoke with customer service yesterday and inquired about availiabity of the 8300, she spoke with someone in the tech support dept. and they told her the closest that the 8300's were released was in Minneapolis. She also added that they we not sure if our area would even get  the 8300's.

Milwaukee HDTV Technical Issues / TWC HD reception
Sunday Dec 12, 2004, 08:12:23 AM
I have had all the same problems as descibed... freezing, tiling & sound drops. I also have RR as well as an amp with a 8 way spitter. I have had four new hd dvr boxes replaced & all spitters as well as new amp, nothing has worked!

The TWC techs have  tested and replaced basically everything (from the pole in). It can't just be the "in home hardware." What mhz40 writes makes sense its a dvr code problem!

Onanboy, I also reside on the northside of Racine.

Thanks fot he insight mhz40.

The hd dvr is truly awesome for people who enjoy TV on the own schedules.

In my situation TWC has put forth a great effort, unfortunately the issue of continous audio & video freezes has not been resolved. As of right now a supervisor in tech support has two lead techs working together on this situation, same two lead techs have been to my home four times now. The tech supervisor has no knowledge of software issues with the DVR, how can TWC tech dept. not be aware of this?
Well any how, hopefully soon the patch will be here and I can truly enjoy my hd dvr...fustration free!

We have had HD DVR since Sept. 23, and have had a lot of  audio/sound drops(freezes, tiling). TWC has been to my home 10 times just on this one issue. I am on my fourth HD DVR box. They just can't figure it out. They checked everything fom signal strength, replacing amps and splitters. I still believe it is a software issue but what do I know.

Now that we have the hd dvr I don't want to be with out it! But at what fustration or sacrifice! Hopefully they can fix it soon! But it is cool!
