Milwaukee HDTV Programming / Suddenly poor reception of cbs 58
Thursday Sep 04, 2014, 03:41:04 PM
I've been getting a lot of signal dropouts  from 58 and its subchannels the past few days. I've tried rotating the antenna but it doesn't help.  Channels 12 and 49, which are supposedly located on the same tower, still comes in great. Have they changed signal strength?

Latest News / New OTA station?
Sunday Aug 12, 2012, 03:44:56 PM
I turned on my DVR this morning to discover it found a new station.  This normally isn't a big deal, since it often picks up fringe stations that are normally too far away to get reception. But this was different. It found a station on Broadcast channel 5, which was mapped to DTV channel 68. It is a Weathernation affiliate with radar centered on Milwaukee.  There's a bug in the lower left identifying the station as WTWN Fond Du Lac Milwaukee. I googled the call letters and found nothing.  Is this a new station that just started up?

Edit: Upon further research, this may be the ressurrection of WWAZ, which was located at analog channel 68 and shut down in 2008 but received FCC approval in 2009 to broadcast on channel 5 from MPTV's tower.

General (Non-HDTV) Milwaukee TV / MeToo Coming to Milwaukee
Friday Dec 10, 2010, 11:00:58 PM
According to Sitcomsonline.com, Weigel will be starting a Milwaukee version of the MeToo channel with more retro TV shows in Q1 2011. Starting next Wednesday (Dec 15)  MeTV is becoming a national network, and the local MeTV will be altering its schedule to nearly match that of the new network.

General (Non-HDTV) Milwaukee TV / MeTV 49.1 trouble
Saturday Sep 04, 2010, 02:21:21 PM
For a few days this past week 49.1 was off the air. It's back on now, but the signal is very weak compared to normal. Anyone know what's going on?

Milwaukee HDTV Programming / TMJ4 Weather
Saturday Jan 23, 2010, 07:51:42 PM
It seems that when TMJ4 switched 4.2 over to Accuweather, they also replaced their own HD weather graphics with SD Accuweather graphics. Talk about  downgrade!

General (Non-HDTV) Milwaukee TV / Me-Too coming soon?
Saturday Mar 21, 2009, 12:27:02 PM
I noticed that some of the new promos on Me TV are now branded both Me TV and Me Too. Anyone know if there are plans for Me Too to be broadcast in Milwaukee (presumably on 49.2 or 49.3)? Or are they now just recycling promos from the Chicago market?

Milwaukee HDTV Programming / 6-2 on the horizon?
Monday Feb 23, 2009, 04:10:59 PM
When I turned on my DTVPal DVR today, it prompted me that 6-2 had been added as a channel. When I tuned to it, there was no signal. I then scanned for new channels on my digital converter box, but didn't find 6-2. Was this a hiccup or is something in the works at channel 6?

General (Non-HDTV) Milwaukee TV / 49.1 reception problem
Friday Dec 05, 2008, 02:23:21 PM
I haven't been able to get a good consistant signal on OTA 49.1 (MeTV) for the past couple of days. Has anyone else experienced this?

Specfically, it has a major audio problem. I watch it about 2 hours a day, and usually there will be serveral periods where the sound breaks up and it sounds as if someone is pushing the mute button repeatedly about 4 times per second. This can go on any where from 15 seconds to about 2 minutes at a time. I have to turn to a different channel because it is just too irritating, and it seems to be happening more and more often. I've experienced this problem with two seperate converter boxes, so I'm pretty certain this has nothing to do with my equipment. The problem hasn't occurred on any other channels, including 58.1 and 58.2.

Milwaukee HDTV Equipment / $50 digital converter?
Wednesday Sep 13, 2006, 09:41:21 AM
I'm interested in viewing digital (not HD) OTA stations on my analog TV. There was legislation (not sure if it passed) to provide everyone with a $50 converter when the deadline for digital transition occurs. I'm interested in buying one now! Does this $50 converter currently exist? It seems that all the converters available right now are over $200. Any help would be appreciated.

Milwaukee HDTV Technical Issues / WDJT 46DT reception
Monday Jan 17, 2005, 09:24:33 PM
I've had an HDTV since October 2001 and have never had trouble getting a strong reception of 46DT until late September of 2004. I checked this site back then and according to a thread there was an equipment failure, knocking the OTA signal off the air. Well...I have yet to get the reception back. No signal whatsoever. I've checked back here and with the station and they claim everything is working normally. Did they change anything after the equipment failure last year that would cause a total loss of reception in SW Waukesha County?

FWIW, I have an attenna with rotor mounted on the roof and can get all of the other local DTV signals except for Channel 6's, which I have never been able to get. TIA
