Milwaukee HDTV Technical Issues / TW Samsung box no sound
Sunday Aug 19, 2012, 10:44:06 AM
Have a friend has a Samsung HD box no DVR. 50 inch plasma HD tv. Worked last night, this morning no sound. Connected thru HDMI. Have him doing a hard reset now unplug for 30 min. I think his box may have failed. Is this common? Sorry I have Satellite not familiar with cables equipment issues. Can't stop by him he's too far, he called TW, the service rep from India was no help. Thanks

Milwaukee HDTV Technical Issues / brackets
Monday Aug 06, 2012, 05:50:18 PM
U can get some joist/rafter brackets that mount from the top down. These look like muffler clamps with mounting bracket. This allows you to hang the pole straight down. slide on antenna and point it were needed. works great in attics and garages. will try and post a picture very cheap also like 3.00. Not sure if it works with a roter have not tried that. Peace

Milwaukee HDTV Technical Issues / Ant
Monday Jul 30, 2012, 08:23:34 PM
I get my stuff like that from Skywalker. New Berlin around Calhoun and Lincoln. Sign up as a account/ Business. Only thing is it is not retail you get better prices but you can not return like at Walmart. So be sure it is what you want. The Fringe extreme is like125.00 65 miles plus and the extreme is like 105.00. 55 mile range. These are directional antennas which means you get best results based on where it is pointed.

As far as two on one coax I think the may be a problem, the signals will but heads there is a term for it but it escapes me. Peace

Milwaukee HDTV Technical Issues / Madison Chicago

I have the extreme. I live in Oconomowoc , I get Milwaukee and Madison. Mine is mounted in the garage rafters, "attached". I did this because I got a new roof. No matter what you do It will be a gamble. You can get better or worse results based on water tower, roof material, alot of factors. The pre-amp is the most powerful channel master I could find. Sorry don't have the model. If I point my ant.. at Chicago, I can get a few stations but not all. It is worth playing with. I am not sure where the towers are in Chic.. but I would guess you have a shot. :) Good luck

Quote from: PONIES;58695Why should Time Warner have to do anything for its customers?

WISN is available for free over the air. All of Time Warner's customers can already get WISN for free.

Time Warner shouldn't be carrying any affiliate that expects money for carriage.

You are right....But.... As a PR move, keeping subs happy, keeps subs. It's not about what they are owed, but what will oil the squeaking wheel. If as a sub you benefit from it that, wouldn't that be a good thing? Right?

I have Dish, they gave me a roko, 5 dollars off for Blockbuster, per month,10 dollars a month for 12 months. And all the movies channels for 6 months free. What is TW doing for it's costumers?

Sorry as a result of dropping AMC for same reason.

Harvey is right on what he said. About multi-path and other aspects of you problem.

But FYI Dish has had an issue. With OTA at least on the 722 models update coming out this month. No exact date.

Milwaukee HDTV Technical Issues / Stuff.

Yes it is a preamp/amp same thing as far as what you are trying to do. Amps everything good and bad. If it is working it requires power that's why you were asked if there is a plug in some where. As far as ground and wires to other rooms. I would say it would run about 25 an hour. Plus material. Depending how picky you are and how easy it is to get a cable to other rooms. Your antenna looks fine but you may want something newer. I had one that was 19  years old looked worse then yours and worked fine I am in Oconomowoc and that's about 35 miles as the crows fly's from the towers,, worked fine. Replaced my roof put it above the garage inside that also works fine. You can cancel out a signal if it is to strong but very rare. If you are sticking with a nice ant. get one with a router. that way you can hit other cites. And more channels. Also newer router can map your channels so it just works. Good luck. :)

Milwaukee HDTV Technical Issues / Channels
Monday Apr 02, 2012, 08:04:04 PM
If you have a directional ant., then you need to point it at say 1 or 2 o'clock , given that 12 is direct north. This being the case. That would explain the channels, or lack of. JMO
