Just like with the OTA conversion, I would bet they got a few phone calls. A lot of old people have cable, and there is a lot of old people. They don't like boxes they want one remote and nothing should change. lol:rolleyes:

Milwaukee HDTV Programming / Dish
Tuesday Mar 19, 2013, 08:02:14 PM
I like Dish. But every provider has things to like mo better then the other.  If not for Sports I think I might try just OTA and a TIVO. For the most part connivance is the motivator. Good luck.

Milwaukee HDTV Programming / I am going to try.
Tuesday Mar 19, 2013, 10:14:03 AM
I have a friend in Hubertis he has 18 TV's. The all Digital thing is going to kill him. He has like two DVR's . But the rest of his house is run straight coax to the TV's. He has them in both garages, bathrooms, rec rooms, kitchen, patio, well you get picture. If the new signal is digital and not scrambled. Will a digital converter work? Just so he does not have to rent more top set boxes. I am going to take one I got for free when they were subsidized and see if it works. Will take a week to get over there but I will post results. Unless anybody has tried this yet? Peace. PS I am not talking about unscrambling paid channels. Just passing thru digital channels, :)

Latest News / How cool is that!
Sunday Mar 03, 2013, 08:24:06 PM
Based on the spec's for 4K. Looks like if it takes off the at the theater the movie experience will be great. I have a 60 inch plasma. I love to watch movies at home. From time to time I like to go to the movies. Since this is made for large screens it may help the theaters out. Let's see which company funds 4K 3D. Just 29.99 for the show. Maybe I'll catch the manatee.  lol

Latest News / Following this subject.
Friday Mar 01, 2013, 04:02:19 PM
I have been following this subject on many sites and forums. Those for and against. While I agree 4k may someday be awesome. I believe it will be as main stream as 3D. Which if you are honest is barely taking hold. The reason for 4k is not to be ground breaking. Or part of the few, but for those developing it to make money. There will be a market for it. But it will be small IMO. Ponies on the mouth breathing stupid people I have met a few. Hell my dad has a tube and he thinks the picture is just fine. When discussing new technology. The goal I believe should not be to say mine is bigger than yours, but to help people learn from what you have learned or wish to learn. On that note Ponies. You seem to have a lot to offer in the information department. But even if EVERYTHING you state is true and correct. As a communicator you come off as a narcissistic ***. But hey, that's just my option.  ;) Peace brother.

Latest News / kinda sad.
Thursday Feb 14, 2013, 09:04:43 AM
When this forum started. HD sets were just coming out. OTA was the best picture and it was spectacular. I remember PBS had a looping DEMO show of art and scenery was quite the view. Then as cable and Satellite.Tried to offer more channels, save bandwidth and suck people in. The picture while still clear got worse and worse from the providers. One year, I think it was CBS. But from one year to the next, I was like is there something wrong with my TV? It was transmission compression and bit rate.
In the next couple of years Ultra will be pushed, you will see new topset boxes, tuners and services as well as TV's. Once main stream. It will have the life squeezed out of it as well. Not for quality, but the bottom line. Peace

Milwaukee HDTV Equipment / Thanks

Ya I checked those settings, when the HDMI cable is plugged in the other choices are not selectable. I to have a HDMI receiver that is the way to go but he is not going to buy new stuff. At least not now. I have a Dish receiver, it allows multiple audio outputs at one time, seems TW does not?
