Okay let's do it then......would you leave TWC today if AT&T offered you their new Video Services?(probably bundled with all distance phone and high speed ISP).

No. I'm not a big fan (heck, I'm not a fan in the least) of AT&T's half-a**ed fiber-to-the-node strategy, especially compared to what Verizon is doing.

Plus, I got away from AT&T as soon as I could and switched to Vonage, and haven't looked back yet. I am NOT about to be going back anytime soon, not until AT&T is able to demonstrate that they are even slightly focused on the customer and their satisfaction.

Now IF they were to start rolling fiber to the home, that didn't require purchasing it with a phone service, and if it were comparable cost to Verizon FIOS service, then maybe, just maybe. But I don't see that happening.

I don't care how bad TWC gets - I don't see them being anywhere near as customer hostile as AT&T is.

I dumped TWC back in 2004 when they wanted $60/month for basic analogue cable on one TV (a friend of mine, four blocks away, was paying $35 for three TV's - both of us had been with TWC for several years).  They weren't willing to "work something out" until I told them the Dish was on the roof.  My Dish Network is only standard def so I only get HD programs OTA.  I'm very happy with this for the time being.  However, if I wanted to buy more HD channels I would not go with TWC due to their history with me.

AT&T U-verse doesn't require you to have phone service.  You can just get the video and internet services and still have Vonage.

I agree with their bad strategy.. since FIOS is completely fiber to the home.  I like the idea of IPTV, but it means running cat5 to the boxes if you want decent service without much interruption... or so I hear.. people sometimes have bad luck with existing coax.  I guess I'll have to wait and see how it is once they roll it out around here.

Hope they will have a wireless receiver with a central hub.

Chinatown: MHD is a combination of the CMT, MTV, & so on channels in HD.

Many TWC locations (not us) have it already, along with A&EHD, Cinemax HD East and StarzHD.:D

Odd that U-Verse does not offer PBSHD or CWHD in the local HD selection.

Absolutely not, as much as I hate Time Warner, I know I would hate AT@T even more. I think those commercials are a fraud, making it look like it's for a 3rd party that's just concern about our TV watch habits. :D

The side effect of U-verse is that Roadrunner will up their download speed and hopefully the upload speed too.

No. I'd stick with TWC. As much as people rant against them in here, I really have been happy with my service. A few more HD channels would be nice  though. As long as they don't raise the price of the HD package.

jkane

If I had TWC, the answer would be probably.  However since I have Dish, the answer is no.

kjnorman

You did not include a category for would you switch from Satellite.

I have directv and currently I would not switch but that is because I would want to be able to record up to 3 HD channels at the same time.  However if U-verse was ever able to get 2 HD streams and their PVR was up to snuff I might just consider it.

However, for now?  No.

If it was verizons' FIOS?  Yes!  In a heart beat.  Why does Milwaukee get half arsed solutions...
