Has anyone told WIWN 68-1 how far off their lip sync is?

Has been a chronic issue for quite a while.

Does anyone even watch WIWN?

Today 8/7/13 I noticed that on two of my digital tuners channel 10 (WMVS) comes through on channel 8, virtual and RF.

On two other digital tuners channel 10 doesn't tune at all anymore.
I did a rescan and get nothing.

When I try to manually add a channel at RF 8, the virtual channel number that would normally fill as 10 is not found.

Signal strength is not an issue.
Any ideas what's going on?

Back to normal at noon.
Two tuners resolved the issue by themselves.
The other two I had to scan the individual channel to get the channel back.

Anyone else notice the horrendous amount of audio dropouts recently, during the various concerts broadcast during the MPTV fund raising programming? For example, the Straight No Chaser broadcast (12/5/11). The audio dropouts occurred regularly during the programming and during the channel 10 fund raising breaks. No problem with the picture, just the audio. My signal strength is not an issue.

This may be more noticeable when listening with an AV receiver vs. display speakers at normal volume.

I don't notice the problem on any other channel, including the music programming on PBS channel 36,
although I only briefly viewed channel 36 during one broadcast.

See my updated troubleshooting info below.

Why does Fox 6 promote Facebook so heavily?

They do seemingly have a lot of time in their lengthy redundant newscasts to fill with frill.

This year they are forcing people that already have registered email addresses on the Fox 6 website (for contests), to join Facebook to be able to enter the State Fair Cream Puff Giveaway. Ridiculous!

That would be like forcing someone to register with this forum website to enter a contest.

On May 18th I noticed that channel 58 signal strength has dropped considerably. No other channels are affected.
It's almost as low a signal strength as low power channel 63 (WYTU) and I'm about 8 miles from the tower farm.
Every other channel shows maximum signal strength.

Not a problem for me, just curious. Anyone know why, or noticed the same thing?

EDIT: Whatever they were doing is now fixed. Signal strength back to normal level. 05/30/2011

This may have been previously covered, but I didn't find anything with a search.

Why does CW 18-1 broadcast programming that was originally widescreen and then cover it with the green pillars?

Now that ION 55-1 is HD, they are showing widescreen programming the way it was intended.
What's keeping CW 18-1 from doing so?

Regarding additional fee for TV Cue as of January 3, 2010.

The Journal/Sentinel promised in print, "The new and improved TV Cue will be provided free-of-charge to current TV Cue subscribers for the remainder of 2009. Beginning January 3, 2010, ...............

They ended up retroactive billing, adding two complete billing cycles for the TV cue
that goes well into 2009.

The new bright white (nearly solid) Fox 6 in HD bug shown during prime time is offensive.

Until recently, Fox 6 was inline with the other major networks, using the networks nearly transparent logo.

And to top it off, they need to use more screen real estate telling us that we are watching in HD, as if we didn't already know that.

General (Non-HDTV) Milwaukee TV / Analog channel 3
Tuesday Aug 25, 2009, 11:14:13 AM
Now that most analog in Milwaukee is gone, I turned on my old TV today and still have analog channel 3 in the channel list. I am receiving a broadcast, but I haven't been able to figure out what it is yet.

There is a large A as the channel bug and the commercials seem to be for Canadian advertisers.

I don't find anything on TVFool. Any ideas?

I visited a relative in Elkhart Lake over the Fourth and they complained that Ch 4 has been untunable or a weak signal recently.

Before the transition, there wasn't ever a problem receiving Ch 4 since it had a good and steady signal.

Now if it is tunable, the signal is borderline and the picture breaks up.
Then momentarily, the signal is back up to were it normally had been.

No problem with any other Milwaukee or Green Bay station signals.

I have a 2009 Toshiba HDTV and recently I noticed that on Fox 6 the now/next guide info is reversed. So when you view it, you see next/now.

Occasionally it is correct, but most of the time reversed.

Also many times there is a gap where scheduled programs are missing between the current program and what would be on much later (shown as next).

No other local station's now/next guide info is acting like this, only Fox 6.

On my Zenith DTT 901 CECB the now/next guide info is normally correct for Fox 6.

Never had any trouble with digital channel 18. Until today.

As of June 12 I lost digital channel 18 (RF 61) on all of my digital tuners.
I notice it was supposed to switch to RF 18.

I rescanned and my Zenith/LG tuner found it on RF channel 18.
Then the next time I powered it on it was gone again. (No signal)

On my Toshiba HDTV trying to manually add RF 18 showed the same signal as RF 17 Telemundo.
I did a complete rescan and then it found RF 18.

My Dish CECB found it again on RF 61, but labeled it channel 70-1.
It won't find it manually or with a complete rescan on RF 18.

Anyone else have similar problems?

I did find a new channel 4-3.

As of 05/29/2009 The recently added channels 58-4 and 58-5 (Future) are causing my HDTV to become disabled anytime those channels are accessed.

I have a 2009 Toshiba HDTV.

The similar channel 49 future channels don't cause a problem, because they have a video signal. (Color bars)

The 58-4 and 58-5 channels don't have a video signal at this time, so my TV apparently becomes confused by getting a signal, without video and goes to a blank screen and becomes unresponsive to channel tuning. The channel display shows that another channel is selected, but it is actually stuck on 58-4 or 58-5. Powering it off and on again does not cure it.

I tried setting the two channels to be skipped in the channel set up, but in the channel set up, the channel selected is also tuned at the same time so it can be seen. As soon as I select the channel to skip, the TV becomes unresponsive.

The only cure is to select a different input source (wait a little longer than normal for it to change) and then go back to the antenna source by typing in a channel number, other than 58-4 or 58-5.

On my Zenith/LG digital tuners, the channels do not tune at all, and show "No signal".

On my Dish CECB the channels are tuned and show a signal strength along with "No service" as the program title.

As of May 14, 2009, Channel 10-1 is broadcasting a signal interpreted as channel 01-00 call letters Data 2.
My HDTV all of a sudden had a channel 1-0 on real channel 8. My CECB initially showed it as 001-00 Data 2, but placed it as channel 070-00 with call letters Data 2, on real channel 8.

No picture or sound on the channel.

Channel 58's PSIP program guide info stream has recently been down.

More importantly, their PSIP clock signal is has been 24 hours slow. The date being sent is one day slow. I noticed the problem Sunday and Monday morning.

The bad clock time is affecting most digital tuner's internal clock time, once channel 58 is tuned. Tuners with extended program guides and timer ability are being negatively affected more so than tuners with basic program guides. The bad time signal affects a tuners viewable program guide data for all channels, once the tuners internal clock is tainted by channel 58's signal.

P.S. channel 58 has now corrected their clock signal. Monday morning 9 AM.

Anyone know why Milwaukee's channel 10 analog doesn't have a digital OTA counterpart?

Having recently aquired a HDTV tuner, I had my first experience watching OTA DTV during the recent electrical storm the last week of March 2005.

I am located west of the broadcast towers and the electrical storm was farther west and to the south of me quite a distance away. Not close enough to be concerned about viewing during a storm. There may have also been electrical disturbances between me and the tower, although any thunder was heard being west of me and not between me and the tower.

During the electrical storm (7:30 to 8:00 PM) I experienced pixelation and break up of the picture and a black wide horizontal band running through the picture at times. I don't remember the channel that I was viewing. I also have an analog TV in the same room hooked to the same roof antenna. The analog TV didn't have any problem with the picture while the DTV did. This type of disturbance of the DTV has only been witnessed during the storm and not at any other time.

Does anyone have more information or comments if OTA DTV would be more susceptable to interference from an electrical storm then analog broadcast TV?

Thanks,
Beeper
