Latest News / Re: Post Rescan Changes
Wednesday Dec 25, 2019, 09:55:05 AM
I live in the Town of Ottawa in western Waukesha County and have a rooftop antenna.  There is a hill east of me covered with trees so I've never had line-of-sight for Milwaukee TV signals.  As a result, I've always had random signal issues, particularly August through November for whatever reason that are mostly resolved by tweaking the direction and height of the antenna.  I have not noticed any positive or negative changes after the repack.

Milwaukee HDTV Programming / Re: Ch 38 OTA?
Wednesday Dec 25, 2019, 08:05:57 AM
They need to build new transmitter facilities and went off the air around October 27th.  They filed with the FCC  to go silent for up to 6 months.  I asked for an update on their facebook page last week and they hope to be back on the air in January.

Latest News / New OTA station?
Sunday Nov 09, 2014, 09:05:09 AM
You're not really missing much anymore- it's pretty much turned into a 24/7 infomercial channel.  Whoever bought the station is just biding time until the FCC spectrum auction.

Milwaukee HDTV Programming / Suddenly poor reception of cbs 58
Thursday Sep 04, 2014, 03:41:04 PM
I've been getting a lot of signal dropouts  from 58 and its subchannels the past few days. I've tried rotating the antenna but it doesn't help.  Channels 12 and 49, which are supposedly located on the same tower, still comes in great. Have they changed signal strength?

Latest News / New OTA station?
Friday Aug 17, 2012, 07:41:54 PM
According to the recently updated Wikipedia page, the station's call letters stand for "WIsonsin's Weather Nation", so I doubt it will be airing much else.

Latest News / New OTA station?

Weathernation on 68 is now airing in widescreen (not sure about HD) and the PSIP station ID has been corrected to WIWN.

Latest News / New OTA station?
Sunday Aug 12, 2012, 03:44:56 PM
I turned on my DVR this morning to discover it found a new station.  This normally isn't a big deal, since it often picks up fringe stations that are normally too far away to get reception. But this was different. It found a station on Broadcast channel 5, which was mapped to DTV channel 68. It is a Weathernation affiliate with radar centered on Milwaukee.  There's a bug in the lower left identifying the station as WTWN Fond Du Lac Milwaukee. I googled the call letters and found nothing.  Is this a new station that just started up?

Edit: Upon further research, this may be the ressurrection of WWAZ, which was located at analog channel 68 and shut down in 2008 but received FCC approval in 2009 to broadcast on channel 5 from MPTV's tower.

Milwaukee HDTV Programming / 4 stations off the air?
Tuesday Feb 21, 2012, 06:50:14 PM
Since earlier this evening, Channels 10, 18, 24, and 36 (plus subchannels, of course) are all off the air. What's going on?

In the press release announcing that 6.2 would switch to AntennaTV, they made a big deal about the logo, so I doubt it's changing anytime soon.

Milwaukee HDTV Programming / Emergency
Tuesday Dec 21, 2010, 10:32:58 AM
Emergency will be coming back to the schedule when MeToo starts next year. Sitcomsonline.com did an informative interview with one of the Weigel execs in charge of MeTv/MeToo: http://blog.sitcomsonline.com/2010/12/our-exclusive-interview-with-me-tv.html

Me-TV Network's Neal Sabin: The Me-Too programming stream in Milwaukee will be on one of our digital full power stations and have cable carriage. It will include some of the shows we don't have national rights to that air on Me-Too Chicago and some others such as Emergency! and Matlock.

General (Non-HDTV) Milwaukee TV / MeToo Coming to Milwaukee
Saturday Dec 11, 2010, 05:18:53 PM
49.2 would be my best guess, since they put Telemundo on 49.4.

General (Non-HDTV) Milwaukee TV / MeToo Coming to Milwaukee
Friday Dec 10, 2010, 11:00:58 PM
According to Sitcomsonline.com, Weigel will be starting a Milwaukee version of the MeToo channel with more retro TV shows in Q1 2011. Starting next Wednesday (Dec 15)  MeTV is becoming a national network, and the local MeTV will be altering its schedule to nearly match that of the new network.

OTA viewers have very little political clout compared to Blackberry/Iphone/etc users, that's what this all comes down to.

General (Non-HDTV) Milwaukee TV / MeTV 49.1 trouble
Saturday Sep 04, 2010, 02:21:21 PM
For a few days this past week 49.1 was off the air. It's back on now, but the signal is very weak compared to normal. Anyone know what's going on?
