I bought this TiVo Premiere last month from Amazon, and ended up building a new Home theater PC instead.  Box has not been opened yet.

Cost to add lifetime service to this unit for existing Tivo owners should be ~$199.
It is also possible to upgrade the units initial 45hours of HD recording to 300 hours using several guides avalible online.
