Fellow Milwaukeeans ... As we witness and discuss the big changes going on in local broadcasting technology, I wonder what it was like in mid-20th century when TV itself was new and NTSC and color were coming along.

If that sounds like fun, take a look at Milwaukee Television History ... by Dick Golembiewski, aka Nitelinger ... He's had some really interesting stuff online about Milwaukee broadcast TV history and the old local horror shows.

For the cynical among us, myself included:
While I have had an occasional e-mail exchange with Dick, I have no connection other than shared interest in the topic, and I have no connection to the publisher.

Dick participates in our forums and has alerady announced the book here:

But thanks for the plug anyway. :)

Well, I will admit to not straying much from the programming forum, so I missed his properly-placed announcement.  I didn't know people were still talking about regular old TV online!

Thanks.

Ah...the analog years! I remember them well!

QuoteI missed his properly-placed announcement.
That's OK.. if it weren't for stuff like this, us admins would have nothing to do around here! :)

BTW... when you come to forums, use this link:

It will display only the new posts since your last visit. That way you never miss a thing. :)
