Milwaukee HDTV Technical Issues / Samsung Repair
Thursday Jul 09, 2015, 10:43:59 PM
I was wondering if anyone had a recommendation of a repair person who might take a look at my Samsung 52N650 TV.  The TV just started to turn itself on and off repeatedly. My (limited) research indicates that it is either the connection to the front panel control switch or capacitors. Really wasn't in the market for a new TV yet.  I am in Oak Creek.
Thanks

Milwaukee HDTV Programming / TWC Digital Tuner (DTA) question
Saturday Apr 18, 2015, 07:56:23 PM
I have a TWC DTA.  I receive some channels in HD (Local, TNT, TBS, FX, ESPN,etc) but not all in my package.  I called TWC and asked why and they didn't have an answer and they said to switch my DTA for a box.  Well that would have cost me another $12/month that I was not willing to pay.  The guy at the TWC store said I should only be receiving ch's 1 - 99 on my DTA but told him I was receiving more.  So obviously TWC doesn't know what they are talking about.  I did some research but didn't find anything conclusive. Only thought is that TWC in Milwaukee is not all digital yet and maybe when the switch happens it will free up bandwidth.  I think some other cities have already made the switch.  Just wondering what the group thought.

Milwaukee HDTV Recorders & Players / Copy from DVR to PC
Tuesday Mar 08, 2011, 08:00:50 PM
IS there an easy way to copy a recorded show from my TWC DVR to my PC so I could watch it later when I am on the road?  IE - can I connect the DVR to my PC via USB and transfer the file from the DVR to my PC?  I understand I might have to format the file to a Windows Media Player or QuickTime format but just wondering.

Thanks

Latest News / How much is your TWC Bill?
Monday May 31, 2010, 07:53:29 PM
Mine is $134.59.  It used to be under $100 just 18 months ago (with a cablecard).  Here is my bill breakout.  What is everyone else paying.  Feels like I am getting screwed.

Video Digital Access Package $52.90
DVR $9.95
HDTV Video Recorder $7.65
1 additional @ .30  $.30
Package Discount ($10.00)
Road Runner Standard @ 7mbps $35.95
Digital HOme Phone Local $24.95
Fees & taxes - $12.82

Thinking of canceling for a week and seeing if I can get a 'new customer' rate.
What is everyone else paying?

Milwaukee HDTV Technical Issues / Two Way Cable Cards
Sunday Feb 21, 2010, 02:34:26 PM
Any news on if TWC is going to ever issue two way cable cards?  I used to have one but when they switched to SWD I could not get all of the HD channels.  I think that has been over a year plus.

Milwaukee HDTV Programming / TWC HD Channels
Tuesday Nov 18, 2008, 09:13:23 PM
Ok.... so TWC has added a lot of new HD channels lately.  How do I know which ones I should be getting for 'free'?  Example - I know that if the same channel is in SD and it is in HD you get that channel IE NBC, CBS,etc. Discoveryh HD, History, ESPN, TNT, TBS.  What I don't seem to get is ESPN News, Science, Halmark HD.  The TWC website is not clear.  Should I be getting these as well?
Thanks

Milwaukee HDTV Equipment / Mits 55807 Power Problem
Sunday Jun 08, 2008, 10:28:43 AM
I have a Mits 55087 that when I turn on the TV it comes on for 3 sec and then turns off.  I like this TV and it is about 7 yrs old.  Did some research at it may be a power problem?  I did have the IC Convergence replaced a fews back (where the colors split into 3) but this seems different.  Any ideas?  Worth getting fixed? Any idea how much that would be?
Thanks

Milwaukee HDTV Programming / New Huge Weather Warnings
Monday Apr 30, 2007, 08:16:43 PM
Check out the huge Weather Warning on Fox 6 on "24: tonight.  I knew that the weather folks controled things at the stations, but this is bad!  NOt to mention the size 36 red font that scroolls every 5 min saying there is a T-storm warrning.

Plus no HD.

Not buying any of the products they advertise.

Got a call from TWC the other day offering the HD Plus package (Universal, INHD, HDNET,etc) for $3.00/month for 6 months vs the 6.95.  I signed up to see what they have to offer. Thought you might want to know.
