It is a wortless bill. Stations will save money on electricity bills and will shut analog signal anyway. And they can do it apparently from this so called "bill".

Yes, this is the part that has confused me. If stations have the option of going all-digital before June 12, exactly who is the bill benefiting? Consumers who didn't get their coupons will see these stations go black, just like before. So, the real "winners" would be TV stations who weren't ready to switch on Feb 17.

Am I missing something?

Because it's all about the poor, the elderly, the disabled, homeless kitties etc.

If the gov't didn't give you the money to enable you to get a converter then you aren't ready.

For the life of me, I can see no other reason for the delay.  

I was in Best Buy last weekend and they had several piles of the things sitting in the aisles with a blue shirt standing by each one.  I was asked if I was ready for the change, I answered by saying yes and without gov't assistance.

She just giggled.

When I checked out,  two people in front of me were buying several boxes each.
