Channel changes, notices and updates.

Milwaukee and surrounding areas

Includes: Kenosha, Milwaukee, Plymouth, Racine.

Time Warner Cable's agreements with programmers to carry their services routinely expire. We are usually able to obtain renewals or extensions of such agreements, and carriage of programming services is discontinued only in rare circumstances. The following agreements with programmers are due to expire soon, and we may be required to cease carriage of one or more of these services in the near future: ShopNBC, Current TV, Gol TV, Mexico 22, Once Mexico, E!, E HD, Hallmark, Hallmark HD, Hallmark Movie Channel, Hallmark Movie Channel HD, Lifetime, Lifetime HD, LMN, LMN HD, Lifetime Real Women, Ovation, WE, WE HD, IFC, IFC HD, Smithsonian HD and Smithsonian HD On Demand, Style, Style HD, You Too, BBC America, BBC America HD, CSN Chicago, Cooking, Cooking HD, DIY, DIY HD, Encore channels including Action, Drama, Love, Suspense, Family, Westerns and Encore HD, Food Network, Food Network HD, GAC, GAC HD, GSN, GSN HD, Music Choice channels 901-946 and 437, NHL, NHL HD, NHL Center Ice, Retroplex, Sprout, Starz! channels including Cinema, Edge, In Black, Kids& Family, HD and On Demand.

In addition, from time to time we make certain changes in the services that we offer in order to better serve our customers. The following changes are planned: We will be making technical changes to our cable system that may disrupt the ability to view the following unencrypted ("in-the-clear") channels on a digital television or other device that includes a QAM tuner (a "ClearQAM device"): on 11/27, WBWT, WISN WMVS, WVTV, WDJT, and on 12/12, WTMJ HD, WTMJ Weather, LiveWell, WITI HD, Antenna TV, MPTV World, WPTV Create, MPTV Jazz, MPTV Classic, MPTV Weather, MPTV Traffic, WMVT HD, WMVS HD, WMVT. If this occurs, customers will need to go into the settings menu on the ClearQAM device and perform a new channel scan in order to resume viewing these channels. Customers using digital cable set-top boxes will not notice any change. On 11/29, Telemundo HD will be added to the lineup on channel 1027. On 12/3, RLTV on 154 and Aspire on 228 are added to Digital Variety package. On or about 12/5, OWN and C-SPAN will be delivered in digital format only. These channels will remain in their existing package, and will continue to be viewable with a digital set-top box, Digital Adapter or CableCARD-equipped Unidirectional Digital Cable Product (UDCP). In addition, C-SPAN will continue to be viewable on digital TVs (and other devices) that include a QAM tuner. Some channels will change locations – C-SPAN moves from channel 16 in Kenosha, 2 in Milwaukee, 25 in Plymouth, and 14 in Racine to channel 77, OWN moves from 66 to 79, Food Network moves from 67 to 66 and QVC moves from 22 to 16 in Kenosha. On or after 12/12, BBC World News will be added to Digital Variety on channel 362, beIN Sport en Espanol and beIN Sport en Espanol HD wil be added to Nuestra Tele on channels 836 and 837, and the following channels will be added to TWC Sports Pass: TV Games on 335, HRTV on 336, beIN Sport on 337, beIN Sport HD on 1337, Universal Sports Net HD on 1314, One World Sports HD on 1338, World Fishing Network HD on 1348, Outside Television HD on 1349 and Pac12 regional HD networks on channels 1393, 1394,1395m 1396, 1397 and 1398, and Fight Now HD on 1399. Time Warner Cable will offer a Free Preview of Showtime 1/11/13 - 1/13/13. It is available to all Digital subscribers and may contain PG, PG-13, TV-14, TVMA and R rated programs. If you wish to have this Preview blocked, and for parental control information, visit twc.com or call 1-800-TWCABLE. Programming is subject to change. Not all services available in all areas. Restrictions may apply.

The new services listed below will require two-way capable digital cable ready equipment, such as a Time Warner Cable-provided set-top box or a CableCARD-equipped Unidirectional Digital Cable Product (UDCP) used in conjunction with a Tuning Adapter. Other UDCPs may not be able to access these services without additional equipment, such as a set-top box: RLTV, Aspire, BBC World News, beIN Sports en Espanol, beIN Sport en Espanol HD, TV Games, HRTV, beIN Sport, beIN Sport HD, Universal Sports Net HD, One World Sports HD, World Fishing Network HD, Outside Television HD, Pac12 regional HD networks, Fight Now HD.

You can order free "digital adapters" from TWC to get the channels that are moving to all digital if you have any TVs that are directly connected to cable: http://www.twc.com/digitaladapter.  They also have the adapters at the Mayfair store.  They are about the size of a Roku streaming box.  The adapters are only authorized for channels 1-99, local channels in the 900s, and local HD even though they are capable of tuning all non-SDV channels.  There is also no EPG on these boxes.  Basically as functional as the old SA analog boxes from 10-15+ years ago.

Looks like mostly new sports HD channels are being added, nothing else. :bang:

Wow, a Free Preview of Showtime 1/11/13 - 1/13/13, that's cool. They rarely have the free previews anymore.

I like how we get a bunch of sports crap that no one has ever heard of and only New York City gets BBC World News HD.

In regards to the free preview of SHOWTIME: January 11th - 13th‏, what's SHOWTIME 3? I can't seem to find it on the lineup or on Showtime's schedule.

Where are you seeing Showtime 3?  Not sure, but could it be an Internet only streaming channel?  I think ESPN had ESPN 3, which was (is) like that.

The channel changes announced  for December have been moved to January:  The only drop nation-wide for TWC according to this notice will be the Ovation Channel on Digital Choice Package:

That's the thing, I'm not seeing it. The email says, "Your free preview includes SHOWTIME, SHOWTIME 2™, SHOWTIME 3® and SHOWTIME ON DEMAND®."

I can't find confirmation online of what Showtime 3 is either.  But here is the Question Submission form from Showtime's website.  I would fill that out and inquire on what this channel is:

https://cbsi.secure.force.com/CBSi/submitcase?template=template_sho&referer=sho.com&cfs=default&data=

The Showtime Schedules show only the different types of Showtime channels that are in the guide.  (ie-Showtime, Showtime Extreame, Showtime On Demand.)  Paste that email into the FAQ forum about the TWC free Showtime Preview in January.  I am sure they will have an answer.

I am no longer a subscriber but it's good that they are now acknowledging the existence of these Clear QAM channels and providing notification when they move them.

Mystery solved with the Showtime 3 thing, it's actually "ShowCase".

It would have been nice if we had had that HD channel in the first place! How are they removing something they never gave us.
