My tuning adapter on my TiVo stopped responding today, so I rebooted it. When it came back, the channel map that Spectrum (Time Warner Cable) is currently sending to it includes an epic amount of new HD channels. Now, keep in mind that none of these appear to actually be active at this time - they're only in the channel map, not actually live channels.

That's interesting, but I don't think it necessarily means much (yet, anyway). TWC has yet to announce anything for the area in terms of when any changes might happen.

TWC's legal notifications page only mentions a few channels being moved around in January.

For whatever it's worth, I'm going through and checking some of these again. On the channels I've tested, previously I was getting a generic "having trouble receiving a signal on this channel" message, but I'm now getting "This channel is not authorized."

Completely baseless speculation: this might be in prep for the launch of the Charter plans, and these additional channels might only be available to the higher tiers of Charter service.

The thing is,

There have been so many problems with the Spectrum Conversion, that the longer this is delayed, the happier I will feel.  When you change packages, you might get some channels that TWC doesn't have, BUT you will also lose some channels that TWC does have.  The big deal channels are on both systems, and there are like less than 10 stations that are affected by this.

We are still totally TWC right down to the logo here in Wisconsin, Ohio, and several other markets.  I heard it could be 2018 before the change-over, which is fine by me!  I have had great service from TWC.  Those channels should go HD eventually.  Both companies  will be looking to dump the SD version of those channels.  It will save bandwidth.

The fact that we've heard nothing as customers about any kind of switchover tells me it isn't happening any time soon. I think Charter ran into a lot more problems than they anticipated with this.

Last I heard, they're ramping up the rebranding. The trucks are already mostly all rebranded, and the stores are likely to be re-branded very shortly. I actually expect that we'll be fully rebranded "Spectrum" by the end of the first quarter of the year.

They can change the name,

The other parts of the conversion, they can take their time.

Oh yea, on my guide, most of those HD channels if not all of them are in the Time Grid!

Just checked my TiVo, and most of these channels are coming in now, if they're available in your package. They haven't been added to the TiVo guide data yet though.
