Wayne and larry are way behind the fox ota broadcast (usually they're in good sync with fox ota) and well ahead of uverse. Anyone know what's up with that?

Seemed a little more delayed than usual, but the TiVo delayed it so it was near synced and a half-second off. Sometimes if it's really off you can always try to find another local station and try to sync from there; it seems like the radio is going by the extra seconds built into the DVR transcoding delay rather than the actual OTA broadcast.

WTMJ delays their AM programming a few seconds so listeners with digital IBOC receivers maintain continuity if the digital signal drops out and their receiver reverts to the analog signal.  I think this is not maintained for Packer broadcasts.

During Packer games, I often delay the video broadcast with my DVR in order to sync the video action to Wayne and Larry's game calling.  (I dislike the TV network announcer's coverage because they don't call the game, but rather just prattle about things they think you don't know.)  I believe WTMJ also adjusts the delay to try to match the TV broadcast, because after I think I'm set, the timing changes.

Yesterday's game was off by about 8, or 9 seconds at first, but matched up very close to the Ch. 6 video by the second half.  Keep in mind digital TV's have a delay in the received signal as well as the set converts the signal from digital to analog so you can see it.  Different sets do this at slightly different rates, so the timing isn't precise.  If you have 2 sets on, you may hear an echo effect as a result.  Satellite signal routing also has a big effect on timing, so every game is probably different than any others.

This is what you need if you don't have a TiVo. Got one about 7 years ago when digital TV really picked up.
