SAP on CBS?

Watching NCIS on 1005 tonight, we are getting a voice over describing the action.  Same with NCIS-LA.  What's with this?  Never had that happen before.

Suspected it might be SAP, and went to the STB (Samsung 3260) set up menus to try and find how to turn it off.  I found no option to turn off SAP, only select either English or Spanish.  Selecting Spanish eliminated the voice over, but I can't believe there is no option to turn it off completely.

"Unforgettable" doesn't seem to have the narrative, but the audio/lip sync is way off.

You did it right; for some reason WDJT sends out their SAP/Descriptive Video Service channel as "Spanish" rather than another title of audio. I'm glad they have it, but I do agree it's annoying that it seems off sometimes (I watch NCIS with DVS because I'm often doing other things and enjoy the narration). Only the NCIS shows seem to get DVS funding right now.

That's Descriptive Video Service, and yeah, it's on the SAP track.

Except it sounds like he switched it *to* Spanish to turn off the DVS, which is the odd part.

Is it still happening?  For ODN versions of TWC Navigator (C Model boxes and Samsungs) press Quick Settings and set Audio/SAP to English.  On my box it is the only option for this setting.

What happens when you change channels?  If that is normal, CBS is the culprit and they need to fix this if this is the case.

If all versions are playing Spanish audio and your SAP/Language setting shows English in Quick Settings, reboot your box.

I think this is a station issue with CBS.

The DVS was in English.

On the SAP menu, my options are English and Espanol.  Switching *to* Espanol made it go away.   Still don't understand why there is no "OFF".

Audio/lip sync seems back to normal this morning.

Weird; on TiVo and WMC it's listed as Spanish to switch over to that track. I thought the label was standardized between provider software.
