I am currentlu using a T1 (3 MB) from TDS metrocom.
My contract is up next month.
I'm looking at other options to speed up my internet access.
Does anyone have any RANTS or RAVES regarding Roadrunner or U-verse busniess class?

My standard Roadrunner is supposed to be 7 Mbps download, and .500 Mbps upload.  Today I saw 20 Mbps down and .49 Mbps upload on Speedtest.net.  This has been costing me about $40.00 per month.

There is quite a difference on uploads compared to a T1, but it is a lot cheaper.  I guess it depends on how much you need to upload. .500 Mbps works fine for me.

Another thing, even though the Roadrunner is running fast, often downloads are slowed by the source based on what service they use and network congestion, so I often wait a bit anyhow.

We currently have RR business class fiber as a backup circuit at our office (5M down and up).  I've never had any issues with it.

Awhile back I had "business class" service at home through some employee deal at work.  Supposedly they give you higher priority routing with business class, though I never noticed any latency difference between regular residential and business class.  The speed levels are probably the same as residential if you go with the copper based RR.  At home I've only been down maybe 5-10 hours in the past few years, so it's been reliable.  I'm sure there are SLAs with business class so that things aren't down for too long if there's an outage.

I haven't heard anything about business U-verse other than it's offered for small businesses.  Residential service seems to be good, and you get a higher upload rate than with TWC copper.

Speed tests are misleading since RR has Power Boost.  Downloads go up to 20-30Mbps for the first ~30 seconds then they go back down to your normal speed level.
