For those of you without DirecTV or that have it but not Sunday Ticket, one nice thing about NFL Network this season is the Red Zone Channel.  It's the same as you get with Sunday Ticket.

Only available on Dish & Comcast.

Just to note that the Red Zone channel is also available on U-Verse, for a fee.  NFL network is available in a standard package, in my case U-200.

Well, I guessi that is still another reason to cut the cable.

Dish's fee is $5.98, per month. It also includes the Multi-sport pack.

For me, at least, the Red Zone channel is included in my package on Uverse.  I have the U450.  Perhaps it is part of the sports package?

Could a deal be close with NFL Network and TWC?

Are you really that beholden to cable? Unless line of sight is the problem, get Satellite and your problem goes away.

Line of site is a problem.  Hundreds of trees in my area, and in price comparisons, we haggle our rates down each year before they expire and have the price lock contract for all three things.  Cable, DVR, Internet, Phone,  Love the channel selection.  It's their equipment and Navigator Guide that sucks.  But Remote DVR Manager is pretty cool.

Best value for the money for us.  And I still like that service calls are free.  We have had cable for over 20 years and have had only maybe 5-10 service calls, so that's a good average.  Very happy with HD channel selection too!  Better equipment and a better guide, (alone with adding NFL Network and Red Zone) I think would get cable competitive again.

Anyway, back to discussion of getting NFL Network on TWC.

Beholden? Hardly, more like held hostage.

A change in my living arrangements forced my move to TWC.

Longtime D* sub 13+ yrs. Line of sight is impossible for me right now.

If we were talking about the ping pong network I couldn't care less . but we're talking about the freakin NFL.

The NFL is ALL about the TV ratings. I'm not even sure how concerned they are about actual butts in the seats in the stadiums.

This p***ing match between the network and providers is intolerable.

TWC calling the network a niche network and worrying about the ratings outside of the season is nuts. Did they use the same argument with MLB, NHL or the Fox Freakin Soccer channel?

I want the NFL network back on my TV!!!!!

MLB is fairly inexpensive ($0.24/customer/month). It also is partially owned by TWC, and therefore TWC gets revenue sharing. Meaning, it's a far cheaper channel to carry. Revenue sharing also means they have an incentive to make it a standard tier channel; more will watch it, meaning more money will end up coming back to them.

NHL and Fox Soccer are sports tier channels, which is what TWC continues to want to do with NFL Network, but isn't being allowed to. Fox Soccer is also a relatively cheap channel to carry ($0.16/customer/month).

It's the NFL Network that has yet to budge from the position of wanting it as a standard tier channel, and still charging $0.75/customer/month, making it one of the most expensive channels out there.

I also agree that NFL Network is a relatively niche channel, really only appealing to the absolute hard-core NFL addict. General sports fans already have several other general sports channels to get NFL news from; it's only the hard-core NFL fans that would be interested in the micro-analysis of the NFL that you would get from the NFL Network. As for games, there are so laughably few on the NFL Network, and of those games, if any are the home team, they're simulcasted on a local OTA station, IIRC.

Forcing the cable carriers to put the NFL Network on a standard tier AND charge $0.75/customer is out of line, and I'm glad TWC isn't bending over and taking it.
