This isn't directed directly at atigod but to everyone who was doing things like contacting CBS and telling them to get WDJT's affiliation revoked and complaining that the Sinclair stations aren't in HD for the moment:

Both of these stations had flood damage. How would you feel if, say, your basement containing a home theater system flooded, and then your friends started bothering you about when it would get fixed. "Gee, Bob, I sure like to watch the game on your home theater system, when will it be fixed? I'm waiting, Bob, It's been a week and it's still not fixed!"

Yeah... :OnAir:

I wouldn't mind if WDJT's affiliation with CBS was revoked. They manage the channel in a horrible manner. Their news still isn't HD, they can't put up weather warnings without dropping to SD, and their bitrate is like 9 Mbps. It's the lowest bitrate of any HD channel in the Chicago or Milwaukee markets (Live Well doesn't count), and it's probably the lowest bitrate CBS affiliate in the entire nation. PBS has a better bitrate, FFS!

WITI6fan, I am very grateful I even get wcgv in HD, my friends if different states cant even get my network in hd, I understand the flooding and im not being a pest asking, when, when, when, I just wanted more information insted of being left in the dark, cause there was posts about the floodings, but not much info beyond that.

and I am glad Jimboy gave me info

now if I was really gonna complain, I would talk about the differences between national HD channels and local HD channels, thats a big one

Have you tried to see if you can get My50 (WPWR)? They have an exceptionally strong signal; out of all the Chicago stations I always get this one in the strongest over 90%. Apparently they transmit at 1000 kW.

Actually in the last two weeks they just added HD weather warnings, and I can give them a pass on HD considering how their newsroom is structured (though I'm getting a feeling based on their promos at the very least widescreen is in the future).

And it definitely could be worse; ask the poor residents of Youngstown, Ohio, where they have to tolerate their CBS affiliate WKBN-TV, which not only carries Fox as a subchannel, but has TWO HD subchannels (Fox/CBS) on one signal each on starved 720p signals that definitely are well below CBS's 1080i native resolution, along with a news department that easily makes 58 look like WNBC compared to them (they were embarrassed years ago when their morning news anchor did a Hooterseque pageant during spring break in Florida) :bang:.

I say you do what you can with what you got, and considering what 58 has against it in the market, they're doing pretty well. And it's just sad that people think the station needs their affiliation revoked because an act of God stopped them from watching their "stories" or "the Wheel".

no, not saying their affiliation to be revoked, cause of the flooding, saying cause there lack of funding and technical incompetence with the station before the flooding!

Local stations are only there for the news, if the local stations national prime time programing were on there own national channels, then not many people would care to much about what happened to the local stations and everyone would move on, and there would be less problems

Sometimes people dont like to hear the sad truth about local stations, :guitar:

atigod,

Since we're talking about sad truths, why do all your posts relate to your ability to watch grown men in tights (Smackdown) :D

Doesn't Smackdown move over to SciFi before too long anyway? I thought that was due to happen before the fall season starts.

Yes, they will be moving to Syfy October 1st. I think that's why My24 has been advertising "Entourage: Coming this Fall".

Also you realize of course the scene does keep on top of Smackdown, why don't you just grab WWE.Friday.Night.Smackdown.2010.07.30.720p.HDTV.x264-433 until your MyNetworkTV affiliate can get its **** together? Yeah, I know, it's a crappy scene encode but My24's PQ was nothing to write home about anyway.
