Looking to have a whole-house surge suppressor installed.  Anyone have any recommendations for an electrician to do that in the Brookfield area?

Roman Electric.

Fair pricing, quality work, and they clean up after they are done.

If your load center manufacturer has a plug-on unit available, like Square D or Cutler, an electrician should be able to do it very easily if space is available.  For example, for a Cutler Hammer Type CH load center a CHSA is available that plugs right on like a 2-pole breaker.

My pointer would be that as is listed in the instructions, the white wire on the unit should be cut absolutely as short as possible, whether it's plug-on or one that installs externally.

Good luck.
