Breaking News Crawls

During the amber alert yesterday, every station had some type of crawl in HD except for WISN 12. FOX 6 even had a new HD crawl with an HD logo/time. If that's in their plans for the HD ticker on WakeUp, I would like to see them get it into use. CBS 58 also had a full HD crawl while TMJ4 had a 16x9 SD crawl.

If anyone has caps, please post.

WITI's had a different "Breaking News" crawl in the past, I wonder if the breaking news ticker is generated from a different piece of equipment than the WakeUp one. It's possible they have a box that can generate plain tickers, but can't fetch weather data, traffic or stock quotes like the WakeUp one.

WISN has proven to have the ability to generate a HD crawl in the past. I don't know what's going on over there, but they're certainly not showing any signs of moving towards HD.

Chuck from Fox told me a while ago that they would be debuting a new HD time/temp logo and ticker in the near future so I was just speculating as to maybe that could be it. And the ticker they currently use on WakeUp is the same SD one they had before they went HD, just stretched to fill 16x9.

And WISN seemed to be making steps forward when they got an HD severe weather crawl, but now it seems like CBS 58 is further ahead of them. Everything except for the news is in HD (that can be).
