Not getting 2 channels

My Directv HD receiver for some reason is not getting USA or TBS  - looks like transponder 4 isn't getting a signal for the most part. These stations are coming in via our non-HD receivers, so obviously something must be up with the dish for the HD. No idea what it could be as everything else is coming in peachy. (I don't regularly watch these channels, but I do watch Burn Notice - which was coming over fine months ago - but I have no idea when this "outage" might have occurred.) Any suggestions?

Check signals on 103ca on the HD receiver.  TBSHD is on transponder 21 and USAHD is on transponder 24.  I'm guessing you were looking at signals for 101, which will have 0s in some spots (4, 12 and 20 for me).

As for your problem, make sure all coax connections are tight.  It could be the coax run, bad LNB on the dish or maybe a bad b-band converter.

I'm getting 0s on 103ca for transponders 21 and 24 (on both tuner 1 & 2). Like I said, everything has been fine since I've had this HD receiver (2 years?) but suddenly these two aren't working. And unfortunately the dish is too high up for me to take a look at (not that I'd even know what I was looking at/for to begin with).

I doubt this will help, but it's worth a try.  Go to this link to reauthorize your receiver: https://www.directv.com/DTVAPP/mydirectv/mysystem/mySystemResendAuthorization.jsp.  If you don't have a directv.com account, you'll have to create one.  Also, if you haven't reset your receiver already try that too.

I think service calls are between $50 and $100 if you have to go that route.  They are free if you have the protection plan ($5.99 a month).

Thanks for the advice. Nothing worked. When I called, they forced a download - that didn't work either. When I called back - had to wait a day since everyone was calling about the other issue - the guy I talked with didn't know why a download was forced. Sigh. He said the diagnostic code led him to believe it was with the satellite, not the receiver. Good news is I qualified (for whatever reason) for a free service call!
