Well I've certainly done my part over the past 5 years to help keep the doors open.

Let's hope they can get thongs worked out and get those doors back open.

Same here, I did many referrals to clients for this place, whether or not they bought there I don't know, but I tried to get them there.
I bought numerous items over the years from them and they offered amazing discounts on trade in items that I took advantage of, too.:D

Point is, Milwaukeeland needs some competition for the Best Buys and American stores, not to say these stores aren't good, just more competition is a good thing.
Perhaps Flanner's location and its very upscale look was a turn off to Milwaukeeans, I don't know.:huh?:

ABT in Glenview, IL, does an amazing business in electronics as well as other items, like appliances,  too, but everytime I am out there with my Illinois clients, I see Wisconsin plates, also. Their Home Theater area is good sized, mostly crowded on weekends with good sales and discounts, so its not like there isn't a market for higher-end electronics out there, IMO.:)

Flanners did my theater room , I got Sony projector and receiver and speakers and they matched American prices and even give me discount. They did a great job and I am very sad that they closed and hope they'll come back.

Sad news indeed.

Personal Service, knowledgeable adult staff, great products, great competitive pricing, relaxed atmosphere apparently doesn't work anymore.

Now I have to find somewhere else to go. I refuse to go to Best Buy for those kind of purchases.

Other than the XBOX, everything in my signature is from Flanners.

Try Audio Emporium in Brown Deer. Very knowledgeable, friendly, and a bit higher end than Best Buy, etc. They are very passionate about music and it shows.

Yes, Flanner's offered the Milwaukee area a wonderful store with all the above features you mentioned, I absolutely agree.;)

Just don't knock all Best Buy stores, the Magnolias inside (some) Best Buy stores offer much of what Flanner's did, including excellent pricing and service
-at least the one in Gurnee, IL does:D

I'm surprised they are still around. I think they are the only B&W dealer in the area. I brought a pair from them over 20 years ago. It was the B&Ws or some Bostons from Flanner at that time..

Looks like Colder's bought Flanner's assets and the rights to the name.  They are planning to reopen the store and possibly add more locations.

Drove by there yesterday and a sign out front says "opening soon!!"

Mark Strube

Saw the same sign driving past there yesterday (Tue). Anyone know any details? New owners? Same owners?

See above. Colder's purchased them.

Just got a email from Ron Lemke (senior custom systems specialist) at Flanners that they opened yesterday 8/25 and most of the employees are back  too. Glad to hear :)

So does the sign say "Colders" instead of "Flanners?" Or are they still "Flanners" overseen by Colders?
