Concannon has been quoted by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel by calling his journey with WITI "a great ride" and felt this was the right time to "pursue other opportunities. "

Often a contract will come up for renewal and for any of a number of reasons the station will make the new contract less appealing for the person to sign. The refusal to sign a new agreement for less money can then be positioned by the station as a "resignation." Not saying that happened in this case, and I have no "insider" information to back it up, but it happens enough that this could be what happened here.
