That is a small store. I usually just go there to check our the PC games. I saw the STB near the satellite TV section. I will browse through the Northridge section later this week. Oh yeah right across the street form Northridge is MARS music store. They are going out of business so everything is on sale. They have a few surround speaker set-up's for sale. I mostly saw 2.1 systems which isn't really surround, but they have other speakers on sale too.

Just got back from Northridge BB.  They must be much larger than Mayfair.  I counted 28+ HDTV monitors (RP, Plasma, LCD) and 15+ HDTV Ready Tubes.  They had 2 HD STB's (Hughes E86 and the Samsung TS160).  They also had two HDTV Digital Recorders (JVC HM-DH30000 $999 and Mitsubishi HS-HD2000U $699).  The kid I talked to said they had more HD tubes but not enough floor space to display them.
