Why Won't The NFL Put Sunday Ticket on Any Cable System?

I was just wondering, why won't the NFL consider the option of making its Sunday Ticket Package available for any cable subs?  Allowing this choice to the cable market could at least get positive results from cable and the NFL.  Than maybe it would be easier for cable companies like TWC, Charter, and Cablevision to get the NFL Network and the Red Zone Channel.

It is simpole: NFL calculates that it makes more money with DirecTV exclusive Sunday Ticket.
When and if it can make more with cable companies, they will do it.

cable can't even agree to get NFL network channel, because they so cheap, so you expact TWC pay for Sunday Ticket.

DirecTV has exclusive rights until at least 2014.  Other cable/sat operators were given a chance at the last bid if they carried NFL Network, but DirecTV outbid them all.  Other countries, like Canada, have it on multiple cable systems.

tencom

Direct TV, has exclusive rights to NFL Sunday ticket, and won't sell to other providers. As I understand NFL sunday ticket, doesn't have a big subscriber base,  mosly due to the high price charged for sunday ticket

The next step with the NFL will be the network(s) holding the cards will cherry pick games they wish to carry throughout the season.

You're already seeing that to an extent with the "flex" scheduling.  Which has to drive teams and fans attending home games nuts.

Just another way to ever squeeze more and more money out of the TV consumer.

Is a shame they want to make money. LOL, Local markets have to carry the games for there local teams. Like Greenbay gets milw. Chic gets the Bears. All other games are chosen by the NFL and the Markets. This is done for the biggest viewing audience. More ads more money. ya da ya da. I am not sure cable could even find the bandwidth to add 16 games a week. On there service, let alone HD. Peace{fart}

No shame in making money.  It is a for-profit business after all.

It's their business model that grinds my gears.  It's predicated on forcing higher and higher rates (and tack-on charges) on customers to fund content that that I feel isn't a good value - for the price and service level provided.  I don't think any consumer will be satisfied with that in the long run.

No, it is not available on TWC, but on Dish & AT Uverse, locally.

But for $6.00 a month, it's hard to beat.

I wish DTV would offer Red Zone channel by itself. I refuse to pay almost $300 to watch several games at once. That's why,to me, MLB extra innings is a MUCH better bargain as games are dispersed throughout the week.

That the advertised leader in sports programming, does not have it available to its subscribers. Then again, maybe the NFL is just looking to spread the product to other providers to create even more interest.

All I know is being able to use the Dish PIP feature with the Packers as the main game, then defering, to the Red Zone during commercials, makes it difficult to use the facilities.

DTV does offer it ,but you have to order Sunday Ticket to get it...no,thanks:rolleyes:
