Best Way To Clean an HD LCD Screen?

Best Buy gave us some HDTV micro-cleaning screen cloths.  Would a clean 100% cotton T-shirt be OK as well?  I know that no liquids or spray should EVER be used on HD screens.  How do you clean your HD sets?

For LCD screens, what I use is a microfiber cloth and Endust for Electronics, sprayed to the cloth, not the screen. Endust for Electronics (blue can) is safe for use on LCD screens, is readily available, and works really well. I use it all the time at work.

ETA: They have a whole product  lineup for electronics, including a kit that includes the Endust for Electronics spray and a microfiber cloth, and they recommend it for both LCD and Plasma displays. (http://www.norazza.com/endust/endust_main.html)

I went through this same question .. ended up using a micro fiber cloth dampened with plain old water.  Worked fine.  Even got a few smudges off the LCD.

Try that first.

I've been using the Monster Screen Clean that is available at Best Buy for years. I'm sure its overpriced (its Monster which is always overpriced).  It says its safe for LCD's and Plasmas.  I think its about $20 and comes with the spray and a microfiber cloth.

I used it on my old DLP and my new LCD and have never had a problem, even spraying it directly on the screen.

Cotton cloth, lightly dampened with water here.  Then, I flip over the cloth and use that to get any moisture on the screen.

Cotton will scratch, I would never use it or paper towels.

What I use is a microfiber cloth and a bit of water, that's it.

You can get some nice, and fairly inexpensive, microfiber cloths in the automotive section at Target or Walmart.

I use Klear Screen kits, which include microfiber cloths and an appropriate liquid, plus some pre-moistened cloths, etc.  //www.klearscreenhd.com will get you there.  Prices are reasonable, and il all works fine for me for my video screens plus a variety of LCD screens at my office.  It is important to test the liquid in an unobtrusive corner of a panel, in case there is some sort of coating.  However, my sense is that most LCD screen fron panels are plain old glass, and the Klear Screen products work fine.  Microfiber cloths can be washed in a clothes washer if they pick up a lot of dirt, since the partiocles can, in theory, scratch the glass.  Do the work with power off so there's no electrostatic anything.

One thing that is important to note about microfiber cloths is that you can machine wash them but you should never use fabric softener on them.  That apparently clogs them up with oils and will make them less effective.

Yes, I do them with no softener, and run it/them again w/o detergent for an extra rinse to ensure no soap residue.

I found a plasma/lcd cleaning kit at bed bath and beyond for 9.99.  after my coupon i got it for 7.99.  It works well for me.  It includes an antistatic dust brush, microfiber cloth and cleaning spray.
