MPTV HD on Chicago Comcast QAM gone?

Recently MPTV HD (WMVS) was available via the QAM signal on Comcast in my Chicago suburb area (I think 134.001 on the digital tuner).  Then last weekend it disappeared and now even a rescan won't bring it back.

Anybody else noticed this or have news of this change?

I have Comcast basic cable hooked directly into my Pioneer plasma.

My first post here; hope I put it in the right forum.

Thanks for any help.

Yep, they yanked it. They needed the room for more channels. I don't remember the announcement, but a few people on AVSForum complained about it as well.

Not what I wanted to hear, but thanks for the confirmation!

Wonder if there's a connection to the fact WTTW is going bye-bye from TWC down here at the end of the month.

Are out-of-DMA PBS stations asking for more cash when the contracts have expired?

Nope, cable systems are reclaiming bandwidth on little watched channels. I hate to say it like that, because I like MPTV/WPTV, but that;'s the way it is.
