I have loved my two Sony DHG-HDD250s for recording OTA HD for several years. Since the change to all digital, the TV Guide On Screen has stopped working on both as well as their internal clocks.

I have upgraded their firmware to 1.2.13
I have rescanned the OTA channels several times
I have soft and hard re-booted
I have left them off over night several times
I live in Bayside Wisconsin

Does anyone know what else I can do to get TV Guide On Screen to work again? Without it they are just expensive paper weights.

Please help!

I'm having the exact same problem with my Sony.  It was getting some data last Sunday, including a correct clock setting.  Since then, I have no channel line up or program guide.  One good sign is that I was getting some ads, so it's getting some data.

I have no idea how to get this to work.  I also upgraded the firmware, did a soft reset, rescanned, did the TV Guide OS test, and reset the channel functions.  After a week, I was hoping that this would had corrected itself.

I think there might be something wrong with 58.1's TV Guide stream.

When I did the reset last Sunday, I was still getting a lot of consistent data coming through on the ATSC slicer screen, and my clock was set correctly within about 20 minutes.  Now I'm only getting a few hits, and they aren't accumulating.

Last night, I was able to kind of get a signal from 5.1, which is the CBS station in Green Bay.  I checked the ATSC slicer screen, and it was producing consistent data, but my clock and programming guide didn't set.  It may have been a result of all the breakups I was getting.

I hope this gets corrected soon, either from the Macrovision people, the CBS 58 engineers, or the Sony guys.  Not having a guide really lessens the value of the machine.

Guys, this might be another WDJT issue.  My DTVpal DVR uses digital TVGOS, and has also not gotten TVGOS guide data since the transition.

I'm on vacation this week, so can't verify anything for a week, but I would hope that it is something that WDJT / TVGOS can figure out in short order.

Wow, great minds think alike?  1 minute between our posts...  I don't think it's your Sony, due to other equipment (DTVpal DVR) not getting guide data either.

I sent a PM to Dan, asking him to check out the TV Guide stream.  Maybe that will take care of it.

I can't even manually record anything right now (at least not without a big hassle), since there's no way to set the Sony's HD DVR clock.

Thanks to some tropospheric ducting action, the CBS channel in Chicago is coming in this afternoon.  I'm trying to get a clock signal from them right now, but so far no luck.

It's worth a shot, anyway.

I don't own any Sony sets anymore, Have a 32 VIZIO LCD, 32 Samsung LCD, 37 Samsung LCD, 57 JVC HDILA, All get the guide and clocks for 58-1 as of 5:00 P.M., Just a little feed back.

I've been told that there's been an equipment failure with the TV Guide equipment at CBS 58.  They are working on getting it resolved as quickly as possible, but there's no definitive date set due to the nature of the problem.

Judging from some of the posts on the AVS forum, WDJT isn't the only station having similar problems.   We'll have to be patient will this is being corrected.

Until that time, I've locked my Sony on 2.1 out of Chicago, since I've had a pretty strong signal all day.  Hopefully I'll get a timecode signal out of it overnight so that the DVR will at least have a time and date set.

I'll try and update the thread tomorrow if it works.

My experiment with 2.1 didn't work, although the time did change.  It's still wrong, but it changed.

Wasn't there a thread here a while back about a "sniffer" for looking at the PSIP data?  I didn't have time to check into it but I would think this would be a nice hobby for somebody around here.

Ken Smith

My DTVPal DVR filled up with 8 days of TVGOS data some time last night.  The time is correct as well.

Had only PSIP since the change.  Nice to see TVGOS back again.  Thanks TV58.

Yes, I received confirmation that this was fixed yesterday.

A big thanks goes out to WDJT for getting this operational again!

Sony says this firmware upgrade is required for DHG HDD250 DVR to get TVGOS after conversion:

http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-download.pl?upd_id=4542%20-%20install

It installed smoothly as instructed. We'll see if this helps.
